I don't think I'm gonna make it!!

Today is day 5 going on day 6 and of course I'm not sleeping. I've been taken Methdone for almost 2 yrs, I was at a dose of 160mg, and then one day i decided I didn't want this s*** in my life anymore and I went into the clinic and told them to put me on admin-withdrawl so in less then three months i went down to almost no M-done. I just don't think I can take this pain anymore, I have a bad feeling I'm gonna be gonin back to the clinic, when will it end???

when I was on day 5 I was like "is this ever going to end???" Well it DID. I was on suboxone not meth but the withdrawals were not pleasant. PLEASE dont give up and give it a few more days and you will wake up and say "I actually feel better"! It will happen, you will feel better. Just dont quit. And then every day will just be better and better. Keep up the good work!

I gotta agree with tuck and kim ..... no way around it - this is not easy -  and when you get done you will have the t-shirt.  But it can be done. I also did it and am clean today for over a year. Every time I see a post like yours I remember.  I did everything that I could think of. And comedy/war movies were my friends for a couple weeks. Dont neglect nutrition and hydration - lack of fluid will take you out quickly. Get the ingredients in the Thomas Recipe and the Amino Acid Protocols and use them....keep posting with questions and for support.....stay strong.

Hope you make it ! Michele

I was on methadone for almost 2 years.I went c/t off of 25 mgs and I have 9 months clean. That was a really rapid taper,so I imagine you started feeling some of those w/ds before you were even completely off....I'm not going to lie here, because I don't think sugar coating it helps.Methadone is a rough detox, one of the roughest there is,and also one of the longest. It took me weeks to get rid of the brain fog and actually feel better. The first 2 weeks though, were the roughest physically....after that things started to become more manageable.I had to really push myself, but I could function through my day with minimal discomfort. The more exercise I got the better I felt at the end of the day. What you are feeling right now is NORMAL for the majority of us who have beaten methadone. It takes time. You've already made it 6 days. There were times in the beginning I didn't think I could make it 6 more minutes. You have to dig deep.you have to find a way to hold on.You're almost through your first week. You didn't go through all of this the last 6 days to go back to where you were. You already said ENOUGH so ENOUGH....Grab hold of your boot straps and hang on tight, because you're so close to seeing that light at the end of the tunnel,it doesn't make any sense to turn back now.It hurts and your scared and you're climbing up the walls right now,but it's not going to last forever.Hold on my friend....you're going to get there. When you feel the overwhelming urge to get up and go back to that clinic, get on here and post...ask for help.Ask and you shall receive.you don't want to fail and none of us here want you too either. You're not alone in this. We're all right here with you.HANG ON!!!!!!! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!! Peace and love.....Kim

It does get better and I'm certain you are past the worst part just keep on keeping on.  Force yourself to go on a walk to get endorphines in your brain.  Don't give up now, your almost past the valley than comes the mountain top :)
Gods richests!!!! <3<3

Hi Mizzo,

I with you.... I am on Day 5 & it is getting so much better for me. I was prescribed at the methadone clinic clonodine. It has helped me so much. It is very cheap even without insurance. You can get it at Walmart for $4 - What has helped me is prayer... I don't want to sound preachie but God has answered my prayer more than I could imagine! Stay on track ... One minute at a time. You can do this! If I can do it anyone can! I have to go get ready for work.. HOpe that your day is blessed!

I just quit Methadone after a year and a half of 80mg a day for my back. You can do it. I quit cold turkey after I said I'M DONE WITH THIS S***. As you can see my sleep is messed up but you will start feeling better in a couple of days. I'm just now realizing how the methadone has masked everything for so long. Everything is just raw....emotions etc.....its like you have to reintroduce yourself to the world. But I refuse to be a slave to that stuff anymore. My family has suffered enough. Peace.

-- I'm sorry that I don't have any real practical advice I can offer .. but PLEASE don't give up!! I understand your frustration and anger at the whole miserable process .. but you CAN do it! You CAN make it through!!  You WILL wake up on the other side of this 'madness' .. you will !!  Hold on and know that you are not alone!!  Try not to measure every moment by how you f-e-e-l ... because that will change from minute to minute. Keep holding onto the reason you started this journey. It IS going to take you where you were determined to go when you started. Sometimes pure hard-headedness is all we have to grab onto!  ... And to the best of the best yet to come!! Bless ya'

I've heard Methadone is probably the worst to get off of.  I'm about to detox off Vicodin tomorrow and it's absolutely horrible.  That said, I don't know how I could do that with M-done.  Listen mizzo....it should start getting better either today or tomorrow.

I was off Vicodin for 6 weeks before.  I was feeling...well almost decent by the 4th week, but honestly it starts to get better after the first week and for me it got continually better until I blew it on week six.  Clonidine helps with w/d's for stuff like Vics and Oxy.  I'm not sure it will help with Methadone, but I'd sure ask because for me the Clonidine probably cut my w/d's in half!
