I feel like hell!

Hi. my name is Mark from Toronto Canada. I have been using methdone for about a year. I am on day 5 my last dose was friday morning around 5 am.  I think I drank 30 ml's then went cold turkey and let me tell you i felt like dying the past couple days. I told my girl about what i was attempting so she helped me out a bit with buying fruits,  vitamins,  checking to see if I was still breathing,  trust me,  at times i felt like i was gonna die. I feel a tiny bit better,  but these sweats are so annoying, cold one minute boiling the next. I had to take the week off work in order to do this but i really didn't realize how bad the withdrawals are. I was just wondering if the worst of my withdrawals are gone? I realize i will have lots more,  but am i past the worst of it????

Hey Gnarley,  Merry Christmas to you my friend and thank you for all your support through out everything.  It's been 76 days now and haven't touch any methadone at all.  I have been drinking the odd time,  but just a couple of beers here and there but that's as bad as it gets. The withdrawals are gone and I still struggle but it was so worth it. Thank you everyone else for your support as well. If anyone needs any support please let me know and I would be glad to try and help and offer advice.  Anything is possible even it seems unrealistic. Merry Christmas to all and peace!

Been 35 days and I havent gone back to the old lady.. I've been clean from the cranky ***** for 35 days and counting. Everyday is a struggle but I have managed to stay a float. The only thing i might complain about today is the insomnia. Couple hours of sleep and i'm up but i can manage. I would like to thank everyone for their support,  Gnarly, i hope all is well with you my brother. I appreciate the support. To everyone else thanks.. It is possible to over come methadone and when you got her pinned down, submit her and live free from her rage..

What's with the "she"...lol
Hurricanes and narcotics..all of the female persuasion...
It's good to read that you are going in the right direction and KNOW that you are getting better. Congratulations!

Gnarly.. reading about Methadone..the similiarlity w/ benzos is significant..it can take months..years..to not be slammed back into w/d. I've been reading up and if I can advise anyone not to take these longer than a few days..I certainly would. They are brutal!

Sleeping is twisted. I work midnights so when i get home i can't sleep so sometimes i take an adivan to help. It's day 12 and I'm doing good but these hot flases then cold sweats won't leave. I sleep maybe 4 hours then i'm up. Methadone ***** your body right up and it takes along time to get back to normal.  I have no energy really,  but i'm gonna try and hit the gym starting friday as it will be 2 weeks since my last dose of 30 mg.. I'm still struggling but trying my best to stay positive and not to fall into another cycle. The pain from coming off it was brutal and i keep reminding myself how painful it was.

Well it's day 7,  well it was at 5 am in the morning. I haven't ever counted down the hours in my life until all this .. I feel not to bad. I went to my docs and he gave me some ativan to sleep. I sleep in intervels and it gets annoying. I went to the supermarket and grabbed lots of yogurts to help my digestive system. I am taking vitamins lots of anti-oxide drinks,  proeins shakes.  Does anyone know what else I should be taking?  I know i shouldn't of taken the ativan but it helped so much. I was thinking about going to a sauna and sittin in one of those bad boys,  think it will help?

HI Mark nice to meet you my name is Mark also so you jumped at 30mg thats pritty high and your going to feel like you got hit by a train for arond 2 weeks this is some powerful stuff and people get withdrawals off of 1mg get up to walmart and pick up a 3 in one vitamin ....calcium/magnezum/zinc

Hey Mark, you might want to send a message to Gnarly. He has a wealth of knowledge about meth. Or he will post a reply. Hang in there. I know you feel like hell but it will pass.

Hey Mark. Did you do a taper? Jumping at 30 can be a *****. 5 days in is something to be very proud of! Methadone is harder to kick because it half life is so long. I did a methadone taper and I took it all the way down to 2mls. Was a lot easier that way. I started at 90 mls and went down 5 mls per week until I hit 30 then 2 mls a week to zero. Hang in there! 5 days is a lot and I would assume the worst part is over or very close to over. You will turn that corner soon!!
