I flushed those pills

well, i flushed those pills down the toilet and decided this morning to quit cold turkey. its actually not as bad as i thought it was going to be! its not easy, either.
but i know i have to quit and if i dont do it now, i never will.
so i guess i have taken step one, right.?
i thank you all that responded to my post last night. i was very anxious and i felt like a cat on a hot tin roof. but then when i flushed the pills i got a sense of peace.
i have gone all day without any pills. one day at a time is the idea isn't it?

Good for you!  And recovery is one day at a time and you will make it!  I was the dumb one that held on to my pills for 30 days and then flushed them, thinking everything would be 100% from then on.  But recovery takes a while and you can do it.  There are many good people on this forum to help.
Best of luck to you,

But the worst of the w/d's don't last that long, so don't be frightened and don't give up!  I'm very proud of you.
