Im only 18 yrs old and I am struggling with the addiction of OC. Almost all of my friends use it on a daily basis. This drug has made my life hell, my relationship between my parents is suffering because of it. I am determind in my head and in my heart to stop but I feel sick and like **** without it. A hot shower does make me feel better but only for about 20min. I am worried about the long run but I know I will feel alive and much better once I have stoped. I have been clean since sunday an now my withdraws are worse then ever. I could use some advice. not being able sleep is the worst. I have school tommorrow.

thanks everyone for writing. I was on oxycontin for over nine months, six months before a hip replacement and now three months
after. I was as high as 220 mg/day when I knew it was time to start cutting down. I was at 80mg/day when a pharmacy snafu left me with only 20mg in my bod. I decided to accept fate and go cold turkey. It has been a living hell. I couldn't eat so I'm dropping weight like crazy. I'm chubby so it's no loss. It's not a diet I'd recommend, however.
I am an emotional mess and shake and cry around the clock. Everything hurts.
I hope these symptoms soften soon. I'm a willful guy and will hang in as long as I have to.
Please tell me it wont be too many days more. Friday is one week. All i take is an occasional 10mg valium. it does not appear to be helping much.
Also, I'm cold and am extra wrapped up in a house already at 70 degrees.

Wow to you... The worse of it is 5 to 7 days. How long were you taking them and how much per day? I have been clean for 18 days and still at not normal. Although I am a lot better. It took me about 9 full days to feel better. You are over a bad part of it. I know how you feel. Stick with it you can beat this. We are all here for you can count on that. JUST DON'T GIVE UP. You have made it this far I would hate to see you go through that all over again. I agree with drinking lots of water plus alit 100% juice or V8. NO CAFFEINE... Plus getting some vitamins. You will be amazed.. Im pulling for you here sweetie. Heather

You need vitamins and minerals.  Go to the store and get and vitamin drink.  immodium and tylenol pm and some neutragena body oil.    drink 6 litres of water a day, take your vitamins,  a shower every 2-3 hours and no naps and immodium as prescribed and you'll be up and runnin in no time.
We're all rooting for you.
