I need help

I have been taking oxycontin for over than three years due to the pain associated with degenerative disk disease. While several doctors have told me that I should not consider myself an addict due to the fact that I take it for real pain, I am now taking 200 mg. per day and even though the pain hasn't lessened I cant get a job due to my "drug" usage. I am sinking further into depression and somthing has to give. I am scared of the prospect of withdrawals and the pain that I will have from the disease but I have to work. I guess that I am screwed

I understand about having real pain but beieve me that doesn't protect you from becoming an addict. I have chronic back pain for 13 years didn't start taking meds for it until 2002 when the right meds/dose was found I took them exactly as RXd for 8 years then started having problems with control dt tolerance & my dr wouldn't change my med or adjust my dose so I did whatever I had to to get more pills to control the pain eventually I had to many "open" receptors in my brain & my brain screamed for more. Then it became about the pills not the pain even though the pain was still there. I don't understand why u can't get a job? All I ever had to do was just show my prescription & I was fine. I have a license in the medical field & work in management. R u ready to stop using? If so, u do have options that will help with wds.
