Hi everyone. I quit posting because it seems like everything I was posting was not beneficial to the group. I like most people, come on here looking for hope. With my post there was not much hope. Now, after being clean forb9 months, i have hope. After going to doctor to doctor I finally found someone who would listen to me. He took 12 and i mean 12 things of blood. He found that my testosterone both free and total were really low. In fact the range of 350 to 1100, mine was 206. Worse yet, my estrogen was only 15 on a range of 25 to 55. Yes, men need estrogen too. Both of these numbers combined is a recipe for anxiety. How did it get that low?? One of the main causes of men under 65 for low t is opiate abuse and use. Now it all finally made sense. Why i started having anxiety before I even quit them, why it's been almost 9 months and still have the same anxiety i did from day one. I,had docs tell me I need to,increase my ssri, i am bipolar, i need to,learn to,relax and so on. Problem was I couldn't. The only down side is I have to inext myself once a,week with test. I did my first one 5 days ago and my leg still hurts. Its not the diabetic needles these are about an inch and a half long. Its worth it, not to,have to go through this help any longer. I just knew this was not your garden variety anxiety. It is much different than I have ever had. I don't feel anything yet, but I have only done 1 shot. Problem is since i already have low estrogen, my doc wasn't thinking and put an estrogen inhibitor in it causing my estrogen to tank making anxiety horrible. So bad I had to pop some Xanax, which i hate. I,have new stuff now, without the inhibitor in it, so when i,do my injection next week, I should have no anxiety. Please pray and hope this works. I,have talked to so many men who,said their anxiety was caused it worsened by low t. I hope to hear from everyone on this, but please remeber I am a bad hypochondriac, so please don't say anything for me to obsess about. Than you all for always listening.

Thanks to all who responded. Also, I forgot to mention, in was also very vitamin d defficient. So, i known that plays a role in it.

Do you think the hormones caused your anxiety or your heart attack?? What 3 meds were you on?

I have been wondering where you have been. Like MsD said, everything you say or go through will always help someone else.

To me it could be a combo with the brain chems still balancing out and YES hormones play a big role. Hormones are Brain chems too!

As a women..My hormones where gone..I would sweat so bad and I could be talking to you and my face would flush and sweat would just pour. My bed was always soaked and me too..AWFUL!!! This went on for a very long time and I was on those 3 meds too. I ended up getting shots that had all 3 hormones in them and a low dose of T, but stopped when I stopped the other meds. My Anxiety was on the moon for almost 3 months as it calmed slowly each day. I ended back on the patch this time and it did help..HOWEVER I had a silent Heart Attack when I c/t my meds back in 2012..(we think that was the time but it was coming anyway), so I can not do hormones at all. I worked and looked for answers and finally found a Dr to work with me without the hormones. Just be safe with the hormones and keep updated with your Dr. Many Men do have these shots, but sometimes there can be side affects on anything we take.

I think they checked it. It is your cortisol level right?? It showed in normal range. Just estrogen and testosterone was low...thanks for the encouragement

Congrats on your clean time Chad!!  Why are you giving yourself the injections?  Have they checked your adrenal glands?

I appreciate the advice. I have found that most herbal supplements don't work for me. The so,called natural approach is really a load of garbage. No offense if that is your thing, i have tried every herbal supplement out there and they just don't work. My doc said as low as my t is, I need something that will work fast. I am,still hoping this cures my anxiety.

Hey Chad, firstly, any thing a person writes on here, hopeful or not is of value to someone, somewhere, even if it only makes them see themselves, or find that they are not alone. So please keep posting.
If you have low T,  it would be better for you to take an OTC herbal supplement like neugenix. Hormones are very powerful and should not be injected like that. You blood should be tested weekly and injections given by an MD or RN based on that information.

See if someone will give it to you in your buttock where the muscle is deeper so it doesn't hurt as much. Divide one butt cheek into quarters. Then go to the upper right quarter. Give the injection in the meatiest (softest) part
