I think this is a very helpful sight and Tom seems to be very informative of his experiences.
I live with an addict, and he is a miserable person off percocet or vicodin. I see however if he knows he has a pill, and takes it, he is immediately better.Does this not seem that infact if that pill-percocet or vicodin-was replaced with a sugar pill, the addict may not know? I also found that natural sleeping pills with Valerian root extract help him.
I agree that NA is also a must, but I know that some people are not addictive people. I am one of those. I have had 2 MAJOR back surgeries and am totally fused. I still have rods that stick out of my spine, and severe arthritis in my neck, and whenever I go to the doctor, they have no problem prescribing me ANY pain med. I just don't like feeling out of control, and rarely will take them. Maybe 2 or three times a year. I do use aspirin, and take a hot bath every night. I can however recomend some natural detox meds-charcoal is excellant. Cranberry is another as well as eating blueberries, and drinking alot of water. This would help with flushing the body. Would love to hear your thoughts!
