Is it ok to take CLONIDINE to subside the w/d symptoms??

I know someone mentioned taking benzos to relieve the w/d symptoms. Anxiety, etc. Is it ok to take CLONIDINE?

No benzos!  They are worse to detox from than opiates!  You can die from benzo withdrawal.  Clonidine for me was the lifesaver.  In fact, I have stayed on it because it also helps my fibromyalgia pain. Be careful not to increase the dosage at all because it also lowers your blood pressure and can cause problems. Good Luck!  I'm 167 days clean from 13 30mg Oxys a day.  Hang in there!

I just went to my Doctor today.12-5-2012 For clonidine.For withdrawal from 32 days off tramadol and after today will be my 10th day off methadone.The pain from withdrawal did't start untill the third day Methadone time table different from all other opiates. It felt like I was hit with a ton of bricks on day 8.Very severe not one second of releif from the pain the legs the whole bit a bath or hot shower helps but it comes back soon after.Took my first dose clonidine hcl 0.1 mg at about 10:30 am It took over an hour to help 2 pills a day 12 hours apart.Was sleeping by 12:00 noon woke up at almost 5:00 PM. With out it I know I would not have slept at all today. My withdrawals might be more severe than yours and it did help.Its almost 8:00 PM and the pain is back al most as bad as it was before the first dose. Very greatful for any kind of break from this. Second dose coming up before bed.My drugs are much harder to get off than most so If it helps me I'm sure it should help you.It lowers your blood pressure Fast heart beat, veins popping,nerves exploding and the mental nightmare This drug should help a great deal.I let you know tomorrow on my third dose how its working Rich
