Almost two months clean and still having anxiety....is this normal?

I have been taking vicodin for over ten years on and off, but mostly on. I had been taking them everyday this time around since 2013. I weened myself down and finally quit on Nov 1, almost two months clean time now. I have anxiety still, not everyday but atleast one or two days a week. I find myself thinking gloomy thoughts and being overwhelmed with fear, all part off the anxiety. I just wanted to hear any similar experiences as far as time frame so I know there is light at the end of this tunnel! Thanks

Ditto with what Lu and jif posted. Very normal, ....exercise!,, so vital ....release that anxious energy!  Don't let it get the best of you, it can be a breaking point for a lot if us.  Aftercare!  or just plain call someone.  Breathe, meditate, dance!  Prayers, hugs

Gotta agree with Jif.
Aftercare and exercise were what SAVED me from myself and crushing anxiety.  Of course you are anxious, you are dealing with life sober for the first time in TEN YEARS!!!  Give yourself a break (:
After 3 months and daily exercise and aftercare I was so calm and at peace.  You are worth it.

Hey there, congrats on your clean time. Yup, that's normal. Remember, you've had 10 YEARS of usage compared to 60 days clean. It's gonna take a while to feel "right." Also, your brain, and body is still detoxing. So, ya gotta give it time.

The thing that made the world of difference is aftercare. I get support DAILY and have tons of people to call that understand. I'm sure you've seen that point hammered home on this site!
