Is the 3rd time the charm?

Ok. I'm at hour 24 (again) of a fast slow taper to cold turkey. This is my 3rd time in the last four months to begin detox. I have to get off these drugs. I'm honestly taking no more than 60mg's daily of a combination oxycodone and oxycontin. I need to get past the 16th of this month. That's when my next Dr's appointment is. I believe I can do this by myself and with the help of the community here. Am I kidding myself or should I take addtional steps to prevent a relapse. I'm asking for any suggestions or comments? I've been taking the drugs for 1 and a half years and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to be done with it.

*smiling. Thx gizzy. Its hard to admit ones an addict. Maybe that's part of my fear, hearing it directly from someone else that I have a problem. I have a good friend that's successfully been through rehab. I think I can turn to him for some help.

Yep recovery care is so important. I honestly never believed it until i kept going back and relapsing. I think this is doable and staying clean takes some hard work at first. To be honest, it really suck s, but so worth it. Not only do we get clean, but we learn so much about ourselves too. You can do this man, aftercare aftercare aftercare, lol.

Thanks avisg. I'll look into it tomorrow. I haven't been able to let anyone know what I'm going through. I have a few ideas who I can turn too.

You need to find some type of recovery care you need to do it differently then the last few times.There is NA or a therpaist even a chruch pastor you just need something .The forum is great but you need a support system in your area as well.You can do it .
