Well I understand the lack of enjoyment.  I fully fully understand.
I am day 4 and feel physically over the hurdle but weak.  I am forcing myself to walk around the block and do housework.  It is tiring but It is the only way I can see for me to get back to normal.  My part is not so much craving and wanting something to fill this black blah feeling.  Plus I had bad news today.
You will get thru this. I drank so much fluid with potassium, sodium b vits and I think it was a ton of poweraide that I drank to keep flushing.  The worst part for me was the restless legs.  They really keep you from sleeping.  But last night I slept great all night without it but I woke up this am covered in sweat so that's good too.  More detox.

You are hanging in and doing good.  Try ibuprofen or advil otc and drink fluids.  Wrap up in a heating pad or blanket or hot bed buddies.  Watch movies to divert your mind.   I had zero concentration skills the first 3 days.  Now okay on that but nothing interests me so that is the hard part here.

Keep going keep going.

I have a lot of trouble with the dysphoria.  that is the worst for me, i feel like i am dying mentally, i have never ever felt worse.  it sux!  And mine lasts anytime i try to cut back or slow down.  There are "positive effects" of oxys.  That is why i take it.  I suffer from severe depression, anytime i am not loaded with oxy i "hurt" mentally, really hurt.  Everything is black and nothing is good.  How did you get off of the oxy without going insane?

Sorry for taking soo long to reply...

I have a herniated (sp) disc and a protruding disc. The herniated one isn't too bad, but bad enough, it's the protruding disc that is my problem. It protrudes inward, toward the spinal cord. Twisting, turning, heck, just standing some times, can cause it to brush up against it. When that happens, my neck muscles clamp down (you can litterally see my neck muscles bulging through the skin). The initial pain is intense - I never been shot, but I imagine it couldn't feel much worse, but that only lasts like a second or so - but when my muscles clamp down, I can't hold my head up straight. In order to keep it up straight, I have to hold my head up with my hands.

This is what caused me to seek treatment. The muscle spasim lasts anaywhere from a couple hours to a few days, and is quite painfull - then I have to deal with my neck muscles being sore due to the amount of work they did. My Dr best explained it like this:

"
If you are a weight lifter, and lift your normal 500lbs, your muscles would be a bit sore afterwards, but may actually feel good, and in any case, not hurt longer then it would take you to go shower.

Now, in your situation - you never been to the gym, you want to look tough, so you go lift the 500lbs bar. You can't but you struggle, trying for an hour. Maybe you get lucky and lift it, maybe you don't - but regardless, you ripped up your muscles pretty badly. Your arms are going to hurt so bad, you'd with them to fall off, this is due to your body repairing the damage you did by trying to lift more then you can.

That's what is happening when your disc hits your spinal cord, your neck muscles clamp down so hard, that you can not cause any damage. However, they are not use to this kind of work, and your body needs to repair the damage.
"

Loose, but close quote to what he said.

Dysphoria -- here's a couple quotes I'm stealing from google:

"The opposite of euphoria; a feeling of emotional or mental discomfort."

"Dysphoria is the lack of ability to feel enjoyment at any activity."

I choose 'dysphoria' over depression - because in reality, I'm not depressed. I may not be able to enjoy much, but it's not a miserable feeling. I've been depressed before -- depression to me is absolutely miserable! I feel sooo much for anyone that has it on a daily basis. :(   Dysphoria is not fun by any means, but I'd rather feel that way, then depressed.

I guess it really depends on how you want to define the two. :)

Symptoms are different for everyone. You may quite possibly have passed the hump and working on your downward slide... and by that I mean toward feeling better every day. :)

If for any reason, in the next two days you gain any mental dysphoria, please be aware, that passes quickly for most people. 1-2 days at the most (some rare people, it can take longer) - anyway, by the time you are willing to go back to the real world (day 5), you should be feeling MUCH better. You may still have some slight soreness, and a bit of motivation issues, but they are minor - possibly 10% of what you are currently experiencing. 2 days later, you'll wonder why you always got stuck on day 3. :)

Be strong, and you will last! I've survived WDs 7x - unfortunately having neck problems usually gets me back into a bind shortly after. Some times I don't know what's worse, trying a risky surgery that could paralyze me, or having to do WDs every 6 weeks or so.

Thanks for the support, what do you mean by mental dysphoria? If you don't mind me asking why do you need neck surgery? I have a friend who was on vic's the same time I was for a car accident and ended up having neck surgery. She was also taking 10 perc's a day. Well, about a month after the surgery she is doing great, quit cold turkey with the pills and is on day 15!!
She is quite an inspiration. Maybe you can do it too!

I am on day nine. On day 3 and 4 I was delusional with pain and guilt. The mental part is the hardest. You will feel better in a few days. we are only 6 days apart and I walked my dogs 1 mile today went out to dinner and feel great.

All I can say is WOW! Thanks so much everyone for your posts! I do hope that you scoll down and read what I have to say. I took a hot shower and got dressed, did my hair (been awhile) and I started to feel better (can you believe it) I don't want to over do it I am giving myself 2 more days until I get back into the world. But then my neighbor called and said that she needed help with something so I went down there. Told her I have had the "flu" for awhile and she ended up making me dinner. I ate it all up and did not get sick. I am starting to feel the aches again but they are better! OMG, is this for real, am i coming back?

GOne, done with, trust me i went through this like a million times and I dont understand why I never just went all the way through.

Hot Baths are the ticket to feeling better for a little while.

You can do this and you will ask yourself why did ever put myself in this position.

Like I said ask anything anytime.

I am on day 6 and I feel like pretty pretty pretty good.

So to answer your question, YES. Dont give up you are going through the toughest part right now and to give up half way would be a big mistake.

Think about it like this do you want to be on pain medication your whole life..... Can you be on drugs your whole life..... Are you going to have to stop again and go through this once more  THATS THE  BIG QUESTION

I want you to understand this isn't suppose to be easy, this is a reminder of why you need to stop drugging. Please continue I would love to hear from you on day 6 that you feel better, not completey but not like today.

Anthony   GOod Luck and I want you to ask any questions at anytime.
