Just want a new life

I just want a new life! I have spent half my life on opiates, and i have been trying to quit forever and I just can't seem to do it.

I am now on day 3 of no opiates and I feel like I'm dying! I have 3 young children to raise completely by myself, and that's been hard.

I've been trying hard to make it through though. I have to admit I tried to quit opiates and marijuana the same day, but I couldn't. I smoked through today and I plan on stopping that now. I'm so scared to face life and reality sober, but I'm ready!

Oh real 180 and dominosara, your so awesome! I didn't think of it that way, I am clean now and getting out of a toxic relationship, so I guess I am kind of hitting a reset button! That makes me feel better thinking about it that way!
And yes, I'm trying to get some me time, some mommy time outs lol!
About 2 minutes after I posted here this morning, my friend called and asked me to go to church! Its been a long time, but I went and was so glad I did! I plan on going every Sunday!
Thanks to all of you for being here and letting me talk freely and even commenting, which always makes me feel great!

Congrats on 7 days!!!  I know personally how hard it is to come off that drug.  Tackle one issue at a time.  Dont get overwhelmed as that isnt good for our brain.  Take some time outs each day for yourself just to regroup.  As for your period, all i can say is i remember those days and i feel your pain!  Menopause is coming.........!!!

Congrats on 7 days!!! Look at this way now, your 7 days into your new life.. Your clean so in a way even though you can't erase the past you can put it behind and and hit the reset button and that's awesome!!! Don't be hard on yourself and take it as it comes.. You have achieved sobriety, so be proud and focus on staying sober 1 day at a time -- the rest will fall into place....

Hi all! I'm still here, 7 days clean today! Its been rough, but I'm getting some sleep now and not running to bathroom. But I did start my period, I know tmi lol, but that was original reason I was put on opiates and oh I'm hurting! But I'm committed to being clean and starting a new life! That's why I filed for divorce, you guys are so right its better than a toxic relationship any day, especially with children! I'm now broke and have to find a place to live and hopefully get a job and daycare and get my life back on track! I wish I had a rewind or redo button for my life lol!

Thanks to all of you! I feel like I finally found a place I can talk and people understand and actually care!
Today is not a great day for me as it was me and my ex anniversary and I'm going through a nasty divorce right now. But I'm trying to be positive, I'm 5 days clean today, so I'm proud of that! I even got out of the house today with my 2 littlest children and went grocery shopping, stocking up on Gatorade and easy stuff to feed the kids and even managed to sneak valentines stuff in for the kids! Went and bought some movies, and went to the library! So I'm going to make this a good day fir

The fog will lift each day so that you can deal with your situation clearly.  Right now it would seem so overwhelming, and it is.  But each day sobriety will come, and you will have the clarity to sort out things in your life...keep posting please....

Thanks for the comments! I have so much going on in my life I couldn't remember how to get back here!
I guess I have 4 days now, still not feeling very good. I'm trying to distract myself and even stay active but its so hard! I was taking all kinds of opiates, lortab Percocet then was snorting roxy all day every day.
The only supplements I take is a multivitamin b vitamins and calcium. I also take paxil. Are there other things I should be taking?
I'm having a rough time with alot right now, a divorce, finding a place to live with my kids by Tuesday, withdrawal and no job. I'm just so overwhelmed. I'm glad there is a site like this!

Hi and welcome to the forum~

Congrats on 3 days!!  I know you are feeling really rotten but this part is only temporary.  Better days are ahead and living life sober/clean is awesome.  It feels so good not be chained to the drugs anymore.  What were you taking?  Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids.  Try and eat bland foods.  Are you taking any vitamins/supplements?  Please keep talking with us as we are here to help~
