Just wondering

I have been sick for many years and I have to take hydrocordone as well as methadone, ambien, lyrica, zanaflex and lexapro.  I have had bad anxiety.  Sleepless nights almost every night.  I dread seeing day time come.  The reason I'm on all of these medications is due to my back.  I had to lay flat of my back for almost 8 months due to 2 ruptured disc in my lower back.

I'm not writing about myself today as I am doing a lot better pain wise.

I have a first cousin who has the same symptoms as myself.   Her doctor has already diagnosed her, but she doesn't have the insurance to keep followed up for medication.  So she takes what she can get.  Not just anything but mostly pain meds.   When she doesn't have those, she substitutes it with alcohol.  She is very sick right now, bad headaches, diariah, cramps all over her body.  She is telling me it is withdrawals from the hydrocordone.  I am telling her it could be a virus.   I've been so sick in the passed  I would be afraid to diagnose her.  Do any of you have any answers, she is sitting her thinking it's withdrawals.

Yes, we were just sitting here talking about it.  I have shared my pain meds with her and I know it's wrong to do so.  But I feel so bad for anyone in pain as I am.

I just read all of the feed back to her, and she said, see I told you it's withdrawals.

I thank you all for your replies.  This is a great site.

I am going to keep in touch.  I think just listening and talking with you all could help me as well.  I do respect my meds.  Although when it all first started,  I really abused the hydrocordone.  They even had me on morphine and it didn't touch my pain.  They couldn't believe I didn't want it.   Thats when they added methadone to my hydrocordone.  They tell me now they use it for chronic pain.

It helped me so much,  I didn't even feel like I needed hydrocordone any longer.  But you know how the pain management doctors are.  Take it as I say.  Do they have me on 3 of each a day.  Thats why I have extra to help out Joan(cousin).  She can go to the emergency room and get them.  They have admitted her in the hospital for this.  She has a slipped disc.

I thank you all so much for listening and reading.

Since I am new on here I'm not sure who to post this too.  But please know I am talking to you all. lol

If I can be of any help at all, please ask.

It sounds like w/d's to me.  BUT if you give this too her you are enabeling her.  I too am a chronic back pain patient had surgery on L4 L5 and S1 low back,  BUT since I have been clean and sober, I don't have 1/10 the back pain I did have.  The meds make us have 9 tolerance to the pain and the stuff in our brain can't work to stop the sensation by putting out the natural pain help.  Just an FYI.  The meds ruled my life until I just wanted to die, I didnt want to live like that.  I am 6 weeks today and I feel wonderful!  In my journals is my story and all about flaxseed which has Omega-3 in it which is good for pain.  You might check it out.  GOOD LUCK
