Know any good ways to stop smoking weed?

I have been smoking weed almost everyday for 7 years now and I am about to graduate from college and it's time to grow up, get a job and quit smoking weed. Does anyone know any good methods or medications or ANYTHING that can make this easier on me. It's really difficult for me to quit I have before and I get really bad migraines, nausea, vomiting, insomnia, etc. I don't know what to do.

The only thing I suggest is, change your life. Your whole life. I mean, if you were like me, all your friends was smoking... Imagine if you don't smoke anymore but a buddy pass you the joint.. How will you react ? I already stopped for approx 1 year and turn back at it because of an insistent friend. I mean, it's not all because of him, I was too fragile.. but, I suggest heavily to change your whole life method. Suppress the negativity, remove the smoke, go healthy by eating well, doing sports... Do a lot of things so you won't have a free minute to think about it. And the most but not the least, love yourself! Many people just don't know why they smoke so much but in many cases, it's because they don't really love themselves. For just thinking about quitting, you are a good person. So love you! Love your powerful mind and say to yourself that YOU CAN! :) hope this can helps

remember. one day without it is a day without poison in your lunges

The first seven days after quitting pot most people normally get a significant decrease in appetite and sleep, both of which are physical withdrawls OBVIOUSLY !    However the physical withdrawls are mild compared to the mental part.  The best way to cold turkey pot is to workout in the evening, go in the steam and sauna after workout, take 3 mgs of melatonin, 100 mgs of HTP complex 30 mins before bed, keep your lights dim, read a book, and NO TV OR NO COMPUTER as the blue spectrum lights also will keep you awake tricking your brain into thinking it is daytime long after tuning off the devices !

Hey,
I would like to tell you something of how I had quit smoking,
I used Nicorette Gum that allows you to actively control how much nicotine you use and when you use it.
I used Low Strength 2mg Gum: Since it is Suitable for those who smoke 20 cigarettes a day or less. And I use to smoke approx 12 cigarettes a day.
And so with the 12 Week Nicotine Replacement Plan of Nicorette I quit smoking. Today it;s been almost more than 6months and I don't get any cravings.https://www.nicorette.in/nicorette/nicorette-gum

Thanks and cheers to Nicorette for helping me and others like me.
Regards,
Pinky

Just quit smoking it. It is the easiest thing I ever quit. I smoked for 14 years, then smoked a bong, and felt like I was 300lbs, I thought "this *****" and quit buying it. I was toasted all day for 14 years, it is easy as thinking "this *****".. For real!
And I am addicted to at least 2 other things right now. So if I can get addicted, I will. Just do it lol.. Or try this: Eat a ton of it, get sick and be scared of the sight of it. That works too.

I recently quit after smoking every day.  I needed a job.  It kinda forced me cause i had no money and needed to pass a drug test.  I also had a new b/f at the time, and that's what helped the most.  Your husband seems very supportive.  You guys should make an effort to bring some spark to your love life, go on a picnic at the park, etc.  lol falling in love really kept my mind off it cause those wonderful feeling filled the void.  i also avoided people i bought it from or smoked with.  Now, i wouldn't even know who to call if i wanted some.  I didn't have any physical problems.  I set my mind to it and did not think about weed whatsoever.  my b/f was impressed.  good luck

Also, if you smoke that much, then its gonna take some good time for it to leave your system......ya know?.....so you will def. need a long leave of absence to pass the drug test, and I'm sure smoking as long as u have that you know how to pass one too....lol.  can't always trust that route and not worth the risk in my opinion.

I wish you the best.

luv,
nauty........

thanks thats true. i never thought of it like that. I can just fool myself by saying its only a month but by the time that month goes by maybe I wont feel the need to smoke all the time anymore. Although I dont know, after I had my son i came home and I didnt want to smoke at first but slowly, gradually I went right back up to my usual amount.
However, like you said if your ex can do it after so many years then anyone can, its only been about 7 years for me. My husband is currently trying to rid himself of a benzo addiction so we can absolutely rely on each other for support so long as were not fighting!

you could also set a time-table: like, i will quit for one month.  see how i feel.

if you don't feel great, you can always go back to it

but what's a few week just to check out how it might feel?  a few weeks really is nothing in the scheme of things.

just think of it like a test.  SO YOU KNOW.

if you don't like it, you can always go back...

well, all i can tell you is my recent ex-b.f. just quit after smoking every day for Lord knows how long.. and honestly, i didn't think he'd ever give it up. he LOVED it, and he's a 53 year old man!

but he stopped.  and he feels really good about not being stoned anymore.  that he truly experiences things now, not all "fuzzy" and "altered" but as they are.  and that is a good thing... he feels great having quit. i never thought of all people i'd hear this from him

he says he feels so much more ALIVE now that he's quit.  good feelings, bad feelings - whatever,  he's just grateful to be truly feeling things as they really are..

give it a shot...

i wish you all the best.  i think you'll be glad you quit.  feeling truly ALIVE and truly PRESENT - in the moment - well, there really is nothing like it....

it's who we really are.

you trully feel all your senses are aive.  the way i personally believe, we were create to feel to begin with.

good luck buddy.... :-)

I've smoked pot on and off for over 30 years...strangely though, I can take it or leave it. I agree with sad, just stop buying/using it. I'm the same way with cigarettes, too, just take them or leave them. Because of all the stress lately, I've been a bum occasionally, but I haven't bought a pack.

def. keep busy to keep youre mind at ease, i smoked everyday about every hour for over 5 years and I had to stop after going to treatment for my opiate addiction. With the help of some vallium, here and there, to ease the anxiety on the fixation of the act of smoking, I was able to stop and actually feel better about my life. yeah I absolutely loved "stoned " life, seeing the world high and feeling good at all times throughout the day and the actually addiction to the smoking part is huge. same as smoking cigarrettes, you feel the urge of smoking something, anything, especially if it gets you high. the anxiety/cravings might be bad and there might be some minor minor discomfort, bus just quitting is the best method. theres really no way to properly tape with smoking, but if youre finding it really really difficult then take a valium or xanax for sleep, but it should be very mild and take them very sparingly. I smoked for over 5 years straight and I stopped abrubtly and I never regret it. Its now been over 10 months since then and I have smoked about five times and that has been recently and I havent had the urge to start smoking alot again. I feel alot more motivated in my life and the feeling not being stoned all day long feels amazing. you will defintely be surprised...good luck

thanks for the imput. I smoke like you said to get high bc it makes everything better. even housework or other boring not so great things. I think its like second nature to me now because its such a part of my daily routine. I smoke when  I wake up, after I eat, before bed, etc. and everyone I know smokes, even some older people so it feels like its "okay"  but being in the medical field i know i have to quit to find a job at a good hospital.

while there are no physical w/d's , its hard to do, for me pot always made things fun, even housework, i found i had to teach myself that things are fun without pot. You need tell yourself you dont need it, things are great without it.. Do you smoke for the high or do you smoke when stressed as a relief? If certain things make you smoke try to stay away from them if you can. take baby steps,, set small goals like if you smoke when you get up.. wake up tomarrow and not do it.. you will be suprissed how good you feel when you make it past that goal.. good luck,,

I also smoked everyday for 20 years and just quit, I experienced NO physical withddrawls.  Stay busy and dont think about.  Maybe try some temporary OTC sleep meds for insomnia.

You totally can do this

I agree with the previous posts, is more on our heads than anything else. I used while young, and a lot, till decided to quit cold turkey, no problems. If is difficult to you, get a hold of a mild tranquilizer as Valium in minimal dose and only for a short period of time till all is over, a week the most.

Some may disagree but I smoked pot for more than 1/2 my life ,I am 40..I believe it to be more in our heads than anything else. The best thing to do is to just quit. You may experience some issues but it will pass and like I said alot of it is in our heads. I smoked everyday probably a 1/4 every other day. One day I just decided to quit. I was sick of buying it and just plain sick of it all together. You can do it. Just don't put so much thought into it and do it..I think we work ourselves up alot more than need be. Our brains are very powerful..
