Has anyone experienced this?

First I must say I have made attempts to get sober for 2 years from lortab and alcohol and have managed periods of sobriety.  Finally, I am waiting to go to detox and treatment.  My abuse has caused me some strange and weird happenings to my body.  I am down to about 3 lortabs a day and 12 beers.   I try to go days without alcohol and suceed for about three days.  Meanwhile my body has been chilling and shaking and it is very scary.  I have ulcers also.  What could be happening.  I want to be strong to get in somewhere as my mom died and my sister and I have gotten so down that I don't want to live but I managed to get myself up and call a treatment center which is 6 hours away and can't take me for 2 weeks but meanwhile even tho I take a few pills a day and I am shaking and shivering and I went to the er 2 weeks ago and all looked normal to them, it is scaring me so bad.  Has anoyone experienced this.  This is happening while I am tak8ing the pills.

YOUR symptoms can be caused from the d/t to the alcohol witch if not gone off right can kill you it can also be caused by the lortabs but is unlikely to kill you if your doing 12 beers every day day in and day out you do need to go to a professional detox cent so then can monater you .....you will still probably have the chakes and chill though it all part of getting clean it will be worth it in the end congrats on n wanting to get you life back let us know how this all turns out .........Gnarly

How long have you been tapering and from what amount did you taper down from? Chilling and shaking were major symptoms for me during withdrawal from vicodin. My body didn't regulate itself temperature wise for about 3 weeks after I quit. I would chill and shake like I was cold one minute and then be sweating the next.

You can get withdrawal symptoms while you are tapering. They won't be full on until you stop completely but if your tapering quickly, you will get some withdrawal symptoms.

Anyways, welcome to the forum. You've come to a great place. These wonderful people helped me and I'm at 32 days sober.
