Legit Question about my head issues! : )

So...I have been having headaches.  I have never really had to deal with many of them before.  Maybe a sinus headache or whatever here and there, but these are everyday and bugging me.  I have taken (not at once) Motrin, Tylenol, BC Powder, Excederin Migraine and Sudafed, (thinking maybe it is sinus)  I don't know what could be causing them. I guess my question is....does anyone think after 2 months I could still be having pill related headache?  Like rebound?  Obviously I am not still in WD, but could I still be having headaches during the aches and pains of PAWS?  My only daily meds are Prozac (been on it about a month) and clonidine.(for BP)

It's not something that I am about to use over, but it is bothering me, and I would like to be rid of whatever is causing it!!!

Love you guys!

First....I'm doing ok.  Headache is gone, but we are all coming down with what seems like cold symptoms.  Maddie has a yucky cough, and hubby is getting a sore throat and snotty!  GAG....ICK....I don't WANT this!!!  Anyway, nothing is as bad as WDs, so whatever!! : )

Second....OMG I would never stop taking clonidine cold turkey.  My BP would go sky high!  I have done it before when I ran out.  BIG mistake!  That is actually a very dangerous drug to just stop all at once.  I will have to taper first if I decide to get off of it!

It is not safe to not take clonidine for a day or two you without  tapering  down. If you dont taper can have a serious spike in blood pressure

How often are you taking the clonidine? That could be the culprit right there. Try a day or two without it and see if that helps. Low blood pressure will most certainly give you a headache, and it's dangerous. Any idea what your BP drops to after taking it? I would get in checked by a dr.

I had to be taken off Prozac a few months ago because of the headaches. They got so bad that I couldn't function. The doc said that its a bad side effect of the med. He said in most people, the headaches go away after a while, but for some they become worse and more prolonged, leading to a change in meds. Two days after I stopped Prozac, my headaches went, and I've not had one since!
Hope your feeling better soon

TH~~   I was thinking about this last night....Maybe this IS allergy related?

Try some Zyrtec or anything without pseudoephedrine...take it for a few days and see if
there's a change.  I hope so...headaches can really wear you down and we don't want THAT!!!

Have a great day today!
Talk to you later!!

when i get a headache that none of the normal otc remedies work on i go out into my herb garden an eat some feverfew leaves. it is also available in the supplement section of most pharmacies in capsule form. even on a true migraine i will get at least 20-30 minutes relief, so i pick enough to last me the whole day. the plant leaves tast very bitter but when something works, i stick with it. it grows all year round too. good luck. sway

Well...hmmmm!  This morning I woke up with it SPLITTING!  But here's the deal....Now Maddie is running fever again and snotting and coughing and so is my other daughter.  I'm thinking it is allergy/sinus type stuff?  Maddie's fever is 101.  I have no fever, but I took a Sudafed because my sinuses felt a lot of pressure in them too.  That was about 2 hours ago, and my headache is gone.  STRANGE!  I HATE sudafed.  I am naturally speedy/hyper, so this is not good!!!!  I will probably be up for about 3 days, because I took one yesterday too.  Yuck.

Happy Mother's Day to you all!!!

HA HA!  Box?  What box?  Did I clean the box?  I'm not a type A!  Why would you say that?

All jokes aside, it has been a stressful month, but I am sleeping pretty good now.  I just keep thinking that a dull headache is a stress induced one or it's from pill-WD.  Stress induced headaches are the TMJ, tension ones.  They mess with your head, neck, shoulders....not fun.  Who knows?  I have literally taken enough BC powder and motrin to kill an elephant, and it does NOTHING.  Might let up for a few minutes and then comes right back!  Ugggghhhh!

It's not like it's blinding pain or anything, but I would rather not have it!

Sounds like you have a combination of possibilities and may have to refrain from one thing at a time to help diagnose the cause. My Neuro installed Epocrates on my Blackberry today. It gives you all sorts of info on meds. Really awesome tool.

TH~   You MIGHT want to switch to something else. See what the doctor says. The headache from Prozac doesn't seem to go away with longterm use.  I've always thought Prozac was a bit more harsh than the others and recently I've read that it's not as useful
since it went generic. It's lost some of it's efficacy, apparently.  But,hey, don't go by me:
I'm the headache queen and we all know how I treated MY headaches!!!!!   YUK!!
Also, take a look at the lack of sleep;that's a factor with tension headaches, along with not eating enough!!!  And being a Type A and worrying and it's not been an exactly stress free month.  Am I the only one looking outside the box???????   LOLOLOL

Hmmm.....I have TMJ issues too.  Wonder if that is contributing to it?  I have already seen a doc for that and still see him when I need to.  I have a splint and take Motrin and apply moist heat and have a few muscle relaxers if I need them.  He knows about my addiction.  He won't give me anything controlled!

Vicki...I have heard that about Prozac.  I wonder if I wait it out, will it go away?  Or will I have to change meds?  The reason I ask is that some meds have side effects that go away after you get used to the medicine.

It's not a migraine. I have never had one of those that I know of.  It's just a nagging headache!!!  And it's annoying the $%&* out of me!

Hey~  I had no idea they were everyday!  Ouch!!

I do know that one of the side effects of Prozac is headache. Whether that's it or not,
who knows?  But the timing is right...

no most likely not ...I have nasty headaches from TMJ my jaw joints need to be replaced I would go to the doctor get a check up .get to the root of them .I have found tylenol aspirin and a coke along with a heating pad helps me the most .First you have to find out why you are  having them.
