Mersyndol addiction

Hi, i've been addicted to Mersyndol for about 2 years now. I started taking it due to a back injury & just never stopped. I was taking anywhere from 2 to 10 a day & would panic when I didn't have any. I have also suffered from alcohol abuse for 14 years.

I decided 3 days ago to stop taking mersyndol after my mum showed me information on the damage it does to your body & especially your liver. I am going cold turkey & it's a lot harder then I thought it would be! My symptoms so far include:

-Headaches
-Nausea/vomiting
-Shakes
-Feeling of agitation/restlessness
-Sleeping maybe 3 hours a night
-Restless legs
-Fevers/sweating
-Nightmares/sleep walking
-Racing heart

Are these symptoms normal? And how long can I expect them to last? I just want to get some sleep!

Hey, yes I went to my doctor & he gave me temazepam to sleep but said to only take it for 5 days as I am concerned about replacing one addiction with another. I am trying not to drink at the moment as it just makes me feel worse. I finally got a full nights sleep last night with the help of the temaz. Other than that just taking plain panadol for headaches. I am feeling a lot better then the first few days. Unfortunately I have friends who just don't understand & keep offering me pain killers but I've stayed strong & said no. As for after care...I have no clue, just taking it one day at a time. Any suggestions?

Does your doctor know you have stopped this?  Are you still drinking?  What you are feeling right now is common.  Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids, non alcoholic, get up and move around as much as you can.  Just know you are doing something really good here.  Any thoughts on aftercare?
