Lost our Peace

Did a little (lot) of reading today.   Wanted to share this;

We are people who have lost our peace.  Having lost it, we look for it everywhere.  We more than look:  In fact, we grab desperately.  Until we remember that our own capacity to love is what we truly seek, we are doomed to endless compulsion to look for happiness where there is none and for satisfaction where there is only more longing.  Only a spiritual experience can sober us up.    ~Marianne Williamson

Longing...that's it.  That is the hole that can't be filled by addiction...I have to figure something else out.

Peace~

A spiritully awaking is one the other is the "crash and burn"...
Addicts crave instant Gratification
They have impulsive, compulsive personalities

You can find this out for yourself they show pics of two brains on an addict and another a normal brain on opiates.
The opiates brain looks like the 4th of July.
Excitment and all kinds of things going on in there.

I probably never told you this before I was sentenced by a judge in Ohio to attend an inpatient 6 month behavior ajustment program before he sent me to a inpatient drug program. I recieved an education I never wanted but today recently I sent a thank you letter to the Judge for saving my life.

Being sober is cool creek, going to work and attending college is fun to me now. I have a complete different look and feeling when I do them now...I was basicly deprogramed then reprogramed.......

That is so cool.  I want to be that person who says (believes) sobriety IS cool and living life in a new way is possible.  I am all for reprogramming this ol brain.

I always have that thought in the back of my head, my gut, intuition, whatever,,,that I will get to the "other side" and when there will truly regret all the time I wasted not having the courage to change.
