There are no refills, thank God. I think if he wasn't in so much pain he would probably sell the pills for crack.... I can't control them I can't handle that drama right now. As for the crack addiction, no he is not getting help and he has only quit til the next binge. He is just retired , and gets a check once a month, He leaves the bill handling to me, I have aranged things so that as soon as his check drops into out joint account the money transfers out of his reach, otherwise he disappears and all the moneys gone, we were evicted just last year as a result of that behavior. He thinks it's okay to use occaisionally, will not consider help or rehab. He has been in rehab numerous times, always relapses, I found all this out after I said "I DO", along with teh fact that he has been a user for over 40 years. His health is failing now, he has cancer, and refuses to do anything for himself healthwise. I guess that's the guilt trip I use on myself to stay.
And equally important - what is happening with this crack addiction? Has he quit or is he getting help for this?
Well I think the odds are better for those of us with addictive personalities. Is there any way YOU can control the meds he's taking? And are there refills to these meds? I ask because if this is the only time he'll have them, then I think you can keep it in control.
