Marie going to Inpatient detox fm Suboxone

I wish I could taper off Suboxone at home, but I am going through extreme panic and anxiety, esp. in the morning.
I was feeling this when I was tapering from Opana ER.  I think the Suboxone is making me feel this
way.  Has anyone else had this happen?

And I am so sad leaving my 8 year old again! I need some
encouragement.  The pain has come back a little, and I definitely have withdrawal between doses.
I am on 16 mg Suboxone taken 3 time a day (a high dose).  I have been on Suboxone for
between 5 and 6 weeks including my detox and rehab just last month.   I know I am so blessed to be able to
go to treatment.  I am so sad to leave my daughter again.  Can anyone relate?  Do you think this panic
will go away when I am off Suboxone??

Marie

FRIENDS.........HUGS......HUGS....... I really appreciate   your responses because they did lead me

to a big decisision which was to go back to inpatient tx again.  There  were  some qualities in suxoxone that make me hope I could put it down, and never use it gain.  IT IS very easy too feel a little ache, then tear the strip, open it and take a tiny part.  Thus increasing the habitual hand to mouth movements makes it difficult on people trying to not used those types of drugs....I don't know about you,,,,,,,but I salivated.(i'm that kid) and that moms).
.............THANK YOU SO MUCH, MARIE

Thanks for your sweet apology.  And your suggestions.  So you finally quit subs?  That's great.  This is a tricky, little medicine.  I can see myself taking these much more liberally than I took the opana.  So it is really great I am able to do this inpatient.
Take good care.

I apologize for the way that post came off I was obvuosuly in a pissed off mood last night didn't mean to take it out on.u. anyways yes I agree on 12mg u could have wd between doses my statement was directed at the 42mg a day dose. I understand where ur coming from now.  If rehab is what u think is best for u and your recovery by all means.go with that. Each of us have our own issues and ways of doing things and because everyone is different no two recoverys will be the same. I'm glad you were able to get off the opana successfully and u should have no problem getting off the sub. Take tour time tho there's no rush and ull be better off. Just have some.plans for aftercare in because all the cravings that have been held back are going to come back tenfold. It's important that you have completed therapy and resolved all issues with addiction before u come off the sub. The game changes once u stop and it becomes 15x harder t stay sober without sub. Also because of the length of wd from sub people relapse because they are sick of being sick and think they can take a few here or there to feel a little better before the sub wd fades. This is where I failed before and this is also why tapering and.getting off slow is SO important. You will be very very sick jumping from 16mg after that long. Most people taper to. 25mg or leas before jumping and they still experience some type of wd. 16mg CT will be no walk in the park and will last weeks and weeks. I wish u the best with getting off sub and.again apologize for my above posts and misunderstanding.A2L

I am so" new" here.....and have soooo much to learn but........I just wanted to say I think that takes such amazing COURAGE just to be able to leave your child to go inpatient to make yourself better for HER and YOU!! I can't even imagine how very hard that is.....and you should be proud of making such an unbelievably hard decision to go. Be kind to yourself and I hope you get better soon.

Wow girl, i can't believe how much sub you re on:(  I am happy to hear that you are going to detox, it will be the best thing for you and your baby.  It will not be easy by any means but you can do it!!!!  Sub has a long shelf life so it will take time just treat it like you did with the opana, you will feel the pain but remember its your brain playing tricks on you, keep telling yourself that your brain is messing with you.  As for the anxiety I'm 40 days clean and i still have it but i also did detox from klonopin, but it does get better i promise.  Depression will kick in so be careful with that hopefully they will put you on a anti depressant in detox.  I wish you all the luck and stay strong Marie...

Sending strength your way

I so appreciate all the support!  I am on the plane to the city I will detox in.  I am so aware how blessed I am to have my husband sitting beside me, understanding this.  Suboxone got an unbelievable hold on me super quickly.  I can't even explain it.  To me Suboxone definitely has  mood-altering affects.  Why would people that have never had it, buy it on the streets and get hooked on it, if it didn't have mood-altering affects.  Some may use it to treat pain, but I have seem people post that don't have pain and got addicted to it.......Oh, I have to turn the computer off.
Big hug,
Marie

give your body a chance to come around on its own dont be in a hurry to jump on an antidepressant my doctor waited 90 days by then I dident need one the body will heal itself given a chance we got to get out of the take a pill mentality it is addictive behavior I wish you all the best in recovery your in my prayers good luck and God bless......Gnarly

Addicted2long, Yes I was having withdrawal between doses when I was on 12mg day.  I could not skip a day.  Doesn't matter that it builds up in a person's system.  My body didn't respond like that.  Please just make your responses sweet.

I started on 12mg Suboxone, and my temperature wasn't stable and I was having withdrawal.  I started talking to my doctor about withdrawal, and he upped my Suboxone to 16 mg a day, and told me I needed to stay on it and to get stable.

To clarify, I am on 16mg. a day.  Sorry that I wrote that in a confusing way.  Thanks for all the support.  As I wrote after my tough, tough Opana ER taper, I can't taper without getting into terrible fear and panic.  That is why I am going inpatient....Gotta get packing for the early trip tomorrow.

Also if your taking 16mg three times a day it is impossible to have wd between doses since u have taken it for months it is so built up in your. System that you actually have weeks worth of doses or hundreds of mg's because the half life is 72 hours so every day u only go down a half. U could stop for a day or two and not even have any wds. That's what sub is made for. I read online docs can not prescribe 42 mg's a day. The law states 32 mg is Max. Are u saying this just because ur embarrassed to go back to rehab I don't underatand

I am a little confused I thought you had said back in other posts you were only on 12 or 16mg a day. 16mg 3x daily doesn't even make sense. The Max dose of sub is 32 mg and most people the ceiling effect is actual around 16-24mg. 42mg is wayyyyy too much esp. For only coming off opana. I can't imagine a doctor doing that to someone. You could prob sue for that. Anyways I don't know why you haven't just been slowly tapering like your suppose to. If you read amaries posts on here she has slowly tapered and is now at under. 25mg a day ans it has been painless. You can't just jump from 42mg. You have no idea how sick u will be ans it's gohnf to be bad for 30+ days with day 4-15 being almost unbearable. U need a new doctor and fast. Please do not jump now. Find a new doc taper over the next 2-3 months and jump at home you can't go to rehab everytime you have wd its not going to solve ur problems and is a huge waste of $ in my opinion. You can do this on your own trust me. Good luxk

Good luck to you Marie. It sounds  like you have a good plan in going to rehab. Is that a total of 48 mgs of sub per day? or is it an odd splitting of 16 mgs over 24 hours.  Hope the best for you

If you have the opportunity to go to treatment then go for it. I have to say that you are on a very high dose of Suboxone considering you tapered down from the Opana. To me that is just over kill.

Anxiety is part of the mental process so I believe that is what is happening here. Once you get off Suboxone this should decrease or go away altogether.

You have been at this a long time lady so do what you need to do to get clean. Hopefully the treatment center will not only medically help you but that they will provide support as well.

Six weeks is not a long time for Suboxone treatment so your detox should be fairly easy. Wrap your head around the fact that you are working to get and stay clean. A positive mental attitude goes a long way.

Good luck and let us know how you are doing.

I don't know much about suboxone, other than what I've researched and one person I personally know who was on it for about 10 days.  It seems like you're on a very high dose.  I'm sure once you're off everything for a bit, the anxiety will lessen.

I'm not sure what your pain is from but chronic pain can certainly lead to depression and anxiety.  I hope you have some plan to deal with it or that the rehab will work with you in how to deal with it.

As for leaving your 8-year old, I can only imagine it's breaking your heart.  But you're talking about a very small piece of time compared to all of the time ahead of you.  In time she'll understand.  Children are very forgiving, especially when you're honest (age-appropriate honesty.)

I wasn't addicted but dependent.  It has taken me a year to get off everything the pain management doctor had me on and it was really hard for me physically.  My kids have been there for me every step of the way.  They may have gotten frustrated when I couldn't be there for an event because I was too ill, but they knew it would be worth it.  It will be so worth it for you as well.
