Marijuana in a relationship :(

My boyfriend smokes marijuana everyday.. He wants to quit but he gets really really angry when he doesn't have any.. If he wakes up in the morning and doesn't get any he will storm around the house slamming doors and screaming at his dad.. He quit cigarettes but he can't quit pot and he won't let me get him any help because he sees it as a sign of weakness.. He tells me I don't understand because I don't do it and he'a right but he won't let me get someone who does understand to help him :(

Honey I too have been smoking it for 25 plus years, it doesn't affect me either when I don't have any, all three of my sons smoked through college and have since quit because their girlfriends don't like it, I see the changes in them, more motivated, more self confidence, it affects everyone differently, if he acts like that when he's out then it's a problem, when my wife wants me to stop doing something she nags me about it until I can't stand it anymore and I give in, stay on him and tell him to quit for you. He can quit it's not that hard but he has to want to, so give him a little motivation, hope this helps

it will be harder for him to quit if his dad smokes at the house too. asking for help is not a sign of weakness, it actually shows courage and strength acknowledging that you need help. is it possible for him to spend more time out of the house, while he tries to quit?
working,school,your house,going to support group meetings aa or na,counseling, getting a new hobby, exercising. if he is around it less it will be less available and tempting to him. many times after smoking pot for awhile it can cause anger and anxiety, that could be what he is experiencing. if he is screaming at his dad because there is no pot, it also sounds like he is just having temper tantums, because he doesnt have what he wants.

He's wanted to quit since before we got together. He has alot of trouble because his dad does it ana alot of people and his friends come over and do it at his house...

His mood swings do affect me but I love him, when he stays at my house he can't smoke pot and he is an amazing person without it until he snaps.. I just want him to get past it and know I'm here for him and he can do it..

Hi.from my own experience cannabis is very phycological addictive,and verging on physically addictive.more so with skunk,hes displaying all the signs of addiction.does he want to quit?or is it you thats at breaking point with his mood swings?
If he does decide to quit the WD symtoms will last 5-7 days and these include trouble sleeping,loss of appitate,mood swings and lack of energy.hope you find a way to work through things.take care.chris
