Methadone a miracle drug?

Ok guys L's here and i just wanna say i had my first experience with methadone last night/today.  Last night i didn't really feel anything off of it but it did get rid of my sweats and allowed me to get 7 hours sleep. Which was great, well today i woke up feeling GOOD and i'm talking way better than i should feel on a normal day with no hydrocodone.  So i'm thinking that methadone is possibly my miracle drug.  I took one 10 mg methadone at 930 this morning and i had an EXCELLENT day at work sold over $10,000 worth of product and 10% of that is commission for me :) i can't believe how good i feel off of one 10 mg. pill i am in disbelief and i still feel wonderful and having no withdrawals eating right absolutely no withdrawals i have not had much of a high off the methadone but that's not what i want anywayz i just don't wanna withdrawal so this is it for me hope i can wean myself off of these and quit it all good luck to all you tough ones who have quit it all wish me luck cuz i'm on my way :) sorry so long winded just in a good mood

take care everyone, brandon

They used methadone and tramadol for short term tapers at the rehab I went to.  I had to do a quick detox so they wouldn't even tell me the amount I got each day (7-10 day blind taper).  I felt great at first, in fact I actually felt high, but its only masking it and since it has such a long half life it takes twice as long to detox off of.  I would of rather of not taken it because once the taper finished I still had a hellish withdrawal.  The only time I think subs or 'done' is a solution is with really hardcore H addicts that need a transition period of being halfway clean so they can get their life back on track even though they have an even harder detox still to deal with.  Thats just my opinion of it and I have tried both subs and methadone.

Brandon... i have been on this medication for 15 years... yes it helps me a lot with my pain and improves the quality of my life, i become more productive and work around the house more.. while its a wonderful medic ation.. its extremely hard for a person to quit or even wean off...believe me.. when i am not on the meds.. im in a full blown depression.. and am always angry..especially after 15 years now.. i dont know if it will ever be possible for me to quit.. the endorphine in my brain has stopped making it naturally because the meds were doing the work for it.. and the endorphine is what keeps u happy..more tolerable of pain.. controls your moods (anger especially)..now that the brain has stopped making it and after 15 years on it..doctor said i might will have to be on it for life.. because the brain has stopped making endorphine naturally that is called brain damage. Its wonderful drug but..it can kill you.. not by withdrawal but with depression which leads to suicide. I am starting to understand how depressed people feel. to be honest i am scared myself because the dr are trying to wean me off and everytime a dr weans me off i try to explain that i am experiencing weird moods and cant sleep... and i hit my cat which i never did before, i cried after hitting the cat (that cat was just confused).. i love my cat and I am truly scared that depression will get the best of me... so when the dr continues to wean me off i just run to another dr and get back on my regular dose which is 70mg/day.. now im on 50 and am stuggling. Methadone is a great med it does help with pain and many other thing but for god's sake be CAREFUL!!

I'm happy your out of withdrawls they really suck but I'm wondering
if you double your methadone from 10 to 20 mg you could double your commission and sell 20 thousand....

If your planning on tapering off the Methadone by yourself, try to have a plan
in place, like seeing how many pills you have and how many days they will
last or take to wean yourself completely off them.Your in good shape, since
you have not been on the Methadone for a long time at all,but that doesn't mean your body will not panic from not having it.Everyone is different. If I were
you L's,I'd cut back to maybe 5mg a day ASAP,only because the less time
your on it the less withdrawls you'll experience, that's all. Good luck again.

I just finished withdrawing from methadone, and i would strongly recomend that you really aproach it with caution.  it took 21 days to feel halfway normal, and i still can't sleep more than 2 or 3 hrs at night because of it.  this is 25 days out from starting my withdrawels.  I got off of norco (hydrocodone xtra strength) much easier.  it was only a week.  it also changed my personality to one my family couldn't stand to be around.  now I'M back.  the stuff is really wicked.  it was developed by hitler so his soldiers could continue to fight while they were injured.  evil origins=evil effects, I say.

Thanks everyone for your support and concern.  I do not plan on taking more than 10 mg per day dave does that sound about right? Is that to much? I greatly appreciate your input as i myself am not very familiar with this drug i'm used to taking 60-80 mg per day of hydrocodone....and when a 10 mg pill can keep me from withdrawing all day i don't think i'll need anymore...plus i don't have much more of it so i'm hoping i can detox pretty quickly. Thanks for the concern guys-brandon

I forgot that it seems you have some resources, like been able to go to a good
rapid detox. Most of us addicts, don't have any money for rehab,so since you
mentioned you got some dough rescently,I'd recommend using some of it to
go to a good facility. I know no one wants to go to one,but I sure wish I did have the money to go to a rehab, since I'm almost positive I damaged my health this past week going cold turkey from the massive Methadone withdrawls. Just to be honest, money means nothing,at least if you don't have
your health to enjoy it.Money used to mean alot to me when I was making tons of it a few years back, but now the most important thing in my life, and should be for everyone,is their health. What good is mone, whenyour on your
deathbed? If you can L's,go get some real professional help, you seem to be
luckier than you may think, right now.Good Luck.

Glad to hear your feeling much better.Without sounding like an ass,I'd just
like to say, please try to take as low a dose of the Methadone as you can.
Methadone will make one feel almost normal when using it for withdrawls
from another opiate, but honestly it is one of the Hardest  to quit or taper
off of,so be very careful, now that you've just started taking it.I'm not trying to
rain on your parade, just concerned, since I have been through hell and back
getting off the Methadone from a Roxi addiction. Good luck and God Bless.
