I'm really not sure how much of the methodone he is on. I think but not positive it was 10mg and then they upped it to 20 so he could tapper off but that was almost a year ago. It took him weeks to find a rehab and doctor to believe he was addicted to Tram. No one believed it could be addictive.
WOW for tramadol addiction .He is going to have a harder time coming off the methadone then he would have with the tram .methadone WD takes alot longer. How long and how much of the meth has he been taking.
I'm am helping a dear friend whose brother is recovering from Tramadol. THey have him on Methadone everyday. She is so concerned because now he doesn't want to come off the Methadone. It's like he traded one drug for the other. He will have to be tappered down from the Methadone and then go through WD. I just don't understand and would like more info from anyone that understands more than me:-) I'm coming to a place in my heart and recovery where I want to help people and be educated on all of this.
For the longest time the only time I heard of doctors giving out methadone was for heroin addiction . I guess they were taking the lesser of to evils approach .Then come to find that is hard to come off of as well. I don't know when they started using to DT off prescription pills ,Personally I don't think they should be .They are making things worse NOT better .It really upsets me when ever I here doctors are using it for DT.
