My Suboxone Taper-FYI

I've had a couple of people emailing and asking what my Suboxone taper was. Here it is for those interested. If you have any questions, feel  free to ask..but, it could be a day or so until I respond because of my work schedule.

Day 1-16mg
Day 2-16mg
Day 3-16mg
Day 4-16mg
Day 5-8mg
Day 6-8mg
Day 7-8mg
Day 8-8mg
Day 9-4mg
Day 10-4mg
Day 11-4mg
Day 12-4mg
Day 13-2mg
Day 14-2mg
Day 15-2mg
Day 16-2mg

As you can see, I reduced every 4 days. I honestly had low to no withdrawals, but that was just my experience. The only real problem I had was a small bit of anxiety. I think Sub is a great tool, but has it's place just like every other recovery tool. Every Suboxone taper and plan should be individualized, so find a great doctor like I did and follow his/her suggestions. And, of course, read everything you can on the subject. Education is your best tool!!

absolutely!  i'm just so glad to see you posting again... i've missed ya, my friend...

and the 24 btw, is someone else.. i've been on the 8mg - split in half, twice a day (so 8 mg total.)  for like a week and a half now, i guess...

anyway, gosh i miss ya, buddy... sooooo good to see you post.... i miss my Ga Guy!!!

Hey hun, Yes, the 8/2's are 8mg Sub and 2mg Naloxone. The other way it comes is in a 2/.5 which is 2mg of Sub and .5mg of Naloxone. The Naloxone never (well very very little of it anyway) gets into your system unless you crush and inject it. Going from 24 to 0 is possible...it's just not preferred. Some sort of taper with smaller drops after the 8mg threshold is recommended. You know you can email me if you need anything, hun :)

you know, the ones i'm taking say "Suboxone 8mg-2mg 1 tablet rcl."

does that mean they are 8mg?  i see my doc tomorrow... but i thought i'd ask anyway! (i started them a couple days after seeing him...)
