My fifth day

okay, well I have made it to five days without any Norco or narcotics.  I cannot believe I did this cold turkey (with the help of detox meds).  I recommend to anyone who is thinking of seeing a detox doctor to do it.  No way could I have done it without her help.  The first day was horrific.  I got not sleep even with the meds and I dont have a bath so I actually put a towel over the drain in the shower to make a semi bath so I could relax for a bit.  I fell asleep in my pathetic little bath and it was a great fifteen minutes.  I started to freak out that there would be days of this but by Day 2, I was asleep for hours and now I am actually at Day 5 come midnight tonight.  I cannot believe I did this.  I hope anyone who is unsure if they want to quit gets some hope from this because I have been quite the hopeless case the last ten years of my life.  I know its not going to be fun or easy but I do feel good right now.  As some others have said its nice not to have to worry where my next prescrip is coming from. Im not going to lie that I miss those pills and the way they made me feel but I know its temporary and the feeling fades way to quick.  Anyway, thats how I am and I am glad to have made it this far.

The first week is usually the worst for physical, but the true test is staying clean. Be sure to stay plugged in here and any other aftercare that works for you.

thank you all.  I start after care tomorrow. It is going to be rough doing so much in a day (3 hours after care then 9 hours work) but I have been told you need to change your habits when you get clean in order to make it stick.  I used to sit at home for hours before work and watch movie after movie on HBO.  (I work from 4 to midnight).  Now I am going to have to participate in the world.

hang in there, you can do this..getting out of the house will help, if you can go for a walk.   One day at a time, that seem to be our motto here but it works
