Coco- can you stop commenting on this thread? Just stick with the new one that you started the other day, okay? This one is hard to scroll through...
Its a long process but it will keep it off my record
So today went ... meh ok... first off my PD *****! he was not even there half the time, he had to go across the street to the other court house and do a case there... which in turn made me have to wait until 1 pm for my case to be called (I was there at 8 am) anyway he said he talked to the procecutor and they said I could do a Diversion Program but it will be the Felony one =/ if I complete this program they will drop all charges.. which is great except the felony one is mighty long and a lot to it... up to 250 hours of community service, 5 classes, random drug testing which is fine with me, 500$ .. here is the link to it if you scroll half down the page you will see the list of the diversions... http://www.belknapcounty.org/pages/belknapcounty_justice/index
So before I do that I have to get evaluated for substance abuse which I hope will be fine as I don't do drugs.... it was such a long day
Tomorrow is my probable cause hearing =/ could they do a plea here?
Hi- Can you start a new post? This one is getting difficult to scroll through-
I worked Oral Surgery as a nurse for a few years and have experienced DRY SOCKET. You would have had enormous pain and should have just gone to any hospital. It should have been repacked with a gauze that has been soaked in clove oil. That would have helped you till you saw your Dentist. I am concerned that ANY DENTIST WORTH HIS WEIGHT, wouldn't see you immediately or have come in as an emergency to his office in this case. I just don't get his lack of responsibility.
Dentists are very competitive here in Canada and to lose a patient due to this lack of care would be considered atrocious!
YOUR changing the prescription was just plain STUPID. There are regulated amounts that are standard for a prescription...anything different is scrutinized and questioned. Once your you've got legal aid, I cant imagine any court wasting a whole lot of time and money on you. A one off with warning should be the expected outcome. Smarten up and get some counselling in the interim. May I ask...is it possible your an Adult with ADHD? Your scattered thought process suggests it. It's not a bad thing, but is real. Hang in there. As a Mom, you need to think smart all the time for the future of your child. Education is never finished.
My probable cause hearing is rescheduled for the 5th ... My public defender seems uncaring... greatt. I'm scared i just want this to be over... i want to get a slap on the wrist and to live life not scared i hate this, I've learned so many lessons in this but it's not up to me .. i just hope it doesn't go on my record because this apartment places we just moved to does re-evaluations (criminal checks) and we could get kicked out for this... sorry for the vent just having a bad day
Thanks for sharing your story Coco and keeping us updated. It sure is scary and I'm sure will stop a few people from altering scripts. It is always very tempting to do.
Good luck and I really hope all goes well.
Hope things turn around for you.
Today's crap
Well my probable cause hearing was at 11... left my house at 10... well guess how BAD things are ?? My tire blew on the way! thank goodness someone stopped to help and I put my spare on... I called the number on the paper I was given for my court date.. the women on the other end was rude to me said I was given a Public Defender (though I had no knowledge of this) she gave me his number I called and talk to him about what was going on he said he would TRY to get a continuance I asked about what would happen if i could not make it would I get arrested he said he was not sure =( .... but anyway I got my spare tire on and it was flat! luck huh? so that guy that stopped (he was a veteran) his house was right next to where i was pulled over! so I drove to his house he put air in my tire... I got to the court house 10 min late but got there! .... well i went into the court room and 10 min later my court case was continued! UGH! BUT! I did get to talk to my Public Defender about EVERYTHING.. he did say it was ok that i got a continuance because the actual prosecutor was not even there ... he said he would talk to the prosecutor about what could be done about my case... =/ lets hope they understand my case ! but I have to call my PD this week (tomorrow) to let him know my address change and then call middle of next week for any info...
Thank you so much for the encouraging words they made me feel better! I am trying to be happy for our move out and starting our life i just hope i can get my story told and the judge to understand
No he didn't but he didn't arrest me either he said because i had my daughter with me and couldn't find my other half in the store (he was in the bathroom) he didn't arrest me he just said he wanted to ask me some questions about it all of course me being scared i blabbed the whole story to him =/ i told the cop the truth
CoCo, my heart breaks for you! I've never had any dealings with the courts except with my son. I don't think you have anything to worry either. Just think about getting moved into to your new apartment and being with your daughter on her 6 month BD. Marry that guy, he sounds like he truly loves you! Listen to Ricart! He knows what he's talking about! God Bless and comfort you. He will you know
You will be okay tomorrow ..You will !
Question: Did the police officer read you your rights before you admitted you had altered the prescription? I was wondering since he didn't arrest you, maybe he didn't mirandize (sp?) you...I'm NOT AN ATTORNEY, I just watch a lot of crime shows...Good Luck tomorrow.
Tomorrow is my probable cause hearing....
I move out into an apartment the day AFTER my probable cause hearing... =/ scared! so much to do i hope we can make a plea and get it done with i'm tired of being scared and feeling like crap
Just show up at the date and time that they told you . On the 24 You will probably be told who Your pd will be and You will probably be given a time to meet with him. It will be ok . This is just the process that they go through.
Then you will probably be given another date to appear, this time with your pd.
I still strongly think that this will all end up with a plea agreement involving you participating in and completing a program. Once you complete the program the charges will likely be dismissed. I know of many who have forged multiple scripts involving hundreds of pills and they were offered a plea agreement involving exactly what I described above. NOW... their second offense was a different story. Just do not make yourself sick with worry over this. You can pass a drug test and you are good .
Im scared idk what to do about it i am waiting for them to appoint me a PD i didnt think it would have to go to a bigger court
A probable cause hearing is for the prosecution to present evidence that a crime has been commited, etc. to determine if their is sufficient evidence/reason to proceed. ( with grand jury etc)
Nothing much will happen with you on that date, except be present..
Hurry up and wait...
But you really should get ahold of your PD so you understand your rights here.
I need help understanding this!! I went today OMG I was so scared I had no idea what to do at all =(( and of course those that were there seemed like they had been there before and knew the ropes... anyway cut to the chase I waited they didn't ask me if i was pleading guilty or not guilty like they did the others...I was the LAST to get any paper work for the public defender... did that... the guy that took me in said i would not be pleading anything... he said i would have to stay and go before the judge.... but some guy came and gave me a paper and let me leave...
so here is my question!!!!!!
today is 10/10 ... i have a Probable Cause Hearing the 24th of this month! omg 2 weeks from today wth! I don't understand how come it's so quick I don't know what it means how are they going to appoint me to someone and me be able to talk to that Public Defender in that short time!? =( they gave others court dates of middle/end of November but I have one in 2 weeks I don't know what a probable cause hearing even is or what it means pleaseeeee give me insight!
I agree that it will likely be very uneventful. You're going to be nervous of course, but try to stay calm. You'll probably be in and out in 15 minutes. Let us know how it goes, fingers crossed for you!
Relax- nothing will happen tomorrow... you will get a continuance.
