meloxicam and advil

Can you take meloxicam and later a couple of Advil?  I was prescribed  meloxicam for my arthritis and it does not always help me..

Hi Ju! I also take a prescribed anti inflammatory, Voltarin, and I was told by both my Dr. And my pharmacy Not to take any type of NSAIDS, ie, Advil, or Ibuprofen, with my anti inflammatorys! Definately check with your Dr. And let them know that the Meloxicam isn't always helping! All the best!

I don't think Meloxicam is a good choice for anyone , it will ruin your kidney like mine, I was told by a kidney doctor to stop taking them they were ruining my kidneys. I have been taking Meloxicam for years for arthritis. Now I have stage 4 kidney disease. Stage 5 is kidney transplant or dialyses. it's your choice.

No u can't, there both the same type of drug.

I was told NOT to take any other medications like advil, ibuprophen, tylenol etc while on meloxicam.  I am currently on Meloxicam, but you might want to double check with your doctor.
