Need help with Tramadol dependancy and getting off it. March 2018

Hi all, just trying to find some help re:  Tramadol.  Been taking for years, 20 yrs.  Not a high dosage, but continuously, daily.  3-4 (50 mg) maybe 5 if a bad pain day.  58 yr. old female.  Pretty healthy, back pain and right hip prosthetic.  I have tried to just stop, and I could not do it.  I am sick of being dependant on these pills.  Any help would be so appreciated.  I only get from my Ortho Dr. and thinking of just being honest and seeing if he can help me?    Thank you all so much.   Was trying to find more current (March 2018 is when I am writing this) communications on MedHelp.    Sandybug.

Yes, ask your doctor to help.  You arent on a real high dose but trams can be hard to come off of so a slow taper will be best.  Keep us posted on how it is going and what the doctor says.  We are here to help.

I think being honest with your dr. Is a great idea. It's not like you're doing anything illegal. Best of luck and someone should come around soon that has more experience with tram dependence. Mine was other opiates - pain killers and I think tram dependence is a little different or I'd try to help more.
