Oh sweetheart I really feel for you. The anxiety is the worst for me too. If you read back on my posts you will get a clear idea of what I went thru in my detox. It was the absolute worst thing I'd ever gone thru. Stay strong like the others are saying. Try benadryl it worked for me some...lots of baths, and if your nit eating it really makes it worse. Try instant breakfast it truly saved my life. I lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks. My weakNess was unreal. Please keep hanging on. I'm in the same boat with you, as I started taking those damn pills again...and I'm getting off for the final time now....no turning back. They have ruined my life, and drained my bank account. Post often it really helps to know your not alone.
getting a new drug would only send you down another path that you have to kick... vitamins Gatorade fruits vegis etc I have been down the detox road and few times the fist 7 days suck then you will have 3 days of ?? but you will feel like a warrior on 10-14 but after 8 days please don't look back only forward I promise you will see thing so clearly you will cry at a sad song you will feel alive like you haven't in years things will be funnier .. Just think no more pill counting no more draining the bank.. if you have made it this far you have guts now see it through!!! best wishes
Hi, welcome. I agree w/ jlannspr. Also want to add that many many folks do it w/o benzos. Sleep is the very last thing to come back so if you can mentally prepare for that, it won't be so scary. As they say, no one ever died from lack of sleep. It's all uncomfortable and we addicts hate discomfort! The most vital thing I can recommend to you is aftercare. It's easy to get clean, it's another thing to stay clean. Remember, we choose to NOT cope w/ life by using and now that the drugs are gone, we still have an addict brain that doesn't know how to cope. Meetings saved my sanity and have kept me clean for almost 2 years. Can't recommend it enough.
Keep posting...the more you post, the more support!:)

I found days 7-10 to be the toughest mentally when you're this early on. My DOC was also opiates for many many years. Look how many days you have pushed through this far! That is amazing. The vitamins mentioned, as well as, exercise and good clean eating are definitely life savers, but here is the catch... They do not take affect over night. As addicts we want instant gratification, and the vitamins, exercise, and diet change take a little bit to kick in. Be sure to stay hydrated and take it easy on yourself. My child ate cheetos and macaroni for a week, but we lived, and you will to. Great decision to get clean.
"Today you are further than yesterday" keep pushing!
