Now that I know that the CT showed a herniated disc I can start taking the meds I laid off of for the past six weeks. Non are addictive. They consist of, Advair inhaler, Singulair pill, Salbutamol inhaler, all for asthama. I also take a Simvastatin pill for cholestorol, and Lataniprost for glaucoma. As you can see I'm in pretty good shape for the shape I'm in. Considering that I also have osteoarthritis and a very tiny problem with my proatate, I am doing extremely well. As soon as I walk into my doctor's office he begins writing prescriptions. We had a good talk today and he told me not to use the Lorazepam I got at the hospital. He took me off of Tiaprofenic, which I hadn't been using anyway. Got to stay away from chiropratic sessions and possibly see a therapist. Anyway, perhaps the return to my regular meds might influence sleep. Wiil be trying to sleep shortly. Hope I haven't forgot how. Oh well. Ive got a TV, Vcr, DVD player, a nintendo, sega etc. and all kinds of movies and games so, I can slip into my second childhood for a while if need be.  Good night all.              Mannie

Hi,

Help from anyone, parent, doctor, another young adult.

My son, who has been asthmatic since 3 years old was put on Singulair about 4-5 years ago.

His asthma has gotten progressively worse in the past 1 1/2 years and the doctor still has him on this med.

My son tried to wean himself off but said that he literally could not breathe at all without it.

He needs to take his inhaler all the time now.

I need help.

Is there a treatment center he can go to that will help him safely escape from this drug?

Please don't take the Salmeterol inhaler AND the Advair.  The advair already has a Salmeterol componet in it.  This is not safe to use both the advair and the salmeterol.
