That's a decent level to jump at, Methadone detox peaked at about day 7 for me. It takes 5 days for your last dose to be gone, then all of it stored in bones and fat is hanging on. Walk, swim, just keep moving as much as you can. I walked laps in the back yard. I kept saying, "no matter how big a problem, drugs can make it worse." I always kept the saying, progress over perfection, close to my heart. As long as you don't take anything, there is progress, you are healing. Try not to focus on symptoms and how you feel, try to focus on who you want to be. You are becoming that person each minute, no matter how you feel. You can do it , but watch your expectations. I expected sobriety to be different too. It's more work than expected and more rewarding eventually. Keep your eyes on the prize.
Thanks jon and I'm so glad you are here for support. You are in my prayers too! With God's grace and each other, there is NOTHING we can't do!!!

The best advice I can give you is stay hydrated! It makes all of the difference and helps to flush the toxins out of your body. Eat the bananas and take hot baths with epsom salt for the RLS. You are doing great. Methadone wds are rough, and can be longer than other opiate wds. Hang in there. You can do this. We are here for you and want to see you get through this!
I am new here and currently tapering down my dose to get off methadone soon, so I don't have much to say as far as experience bc I've never tried to stop before. But I know for sure this is the place to come for information and all the love and support you will need to get through it. I will be watching and cheering you on!!
Congrats on your decision to quit!!! I think keeping yourself busy is a great idea. I tried keeping busy w house work , working out.... Whatever I could do to keep my mind off pills. Having a good postive attitude if u can.... Helps a lot as well.
We are all cheering u on.
glad to see you back! others will come along with methadone experience....just hand tight...it's kind of slow on weekends sometimes.....congrats on stopping!! keep us updated on how you are feeling when the symptoms hit.
