Suzanne, my prayers are with you!!!!!!!!!!!! With the Lord and this site you can do this. I'm 6 weeks clean today. I have real pain issues but I feel better today than I did on the hydrocodone. My mind is clearer and I don't have that depression I had while on the pills. I was on the pills for about 3 yrs. The last year 4to5 10mg a day. I'm 71 and if I can do it you can!!!!!!!!  Keep posting and listen to the advise, they are all on your side and will help you through this. God Bless Boy your going to have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!!!!

Yeah I probably should. I'm pretty new here so I really have no clue as to what I'm doing haha. As far as eating, that is not going to happen but drinking I am doing. I have cotton mouth pretty bad so I have to drink. The nausea has gotten so bad that I can't even think of food. Thank you to all that have posted here. It really helps me out!

Hang in there Suzanne.
Maybe if you start a new thread you will get more responses.  Especially since you are having such a rough time.
This is when you really have to take care of you.  Make sure you are drinking lots of fluids.  Water, Gatorade, vitamin water.  Whatever you can drink lots of.  Eat as much as you can.  Even if it's just little nibbles at a time.
Have you been through this before?

Having a lot of difficulty right now... Cravings are ridiculous and my crying has gotten out of control. I have run out of my meds and I have no choice but to go CT now... :(

So glad your husband is supportive and that you want to be clean.  I'm on day 34 and I promise you it gets better.  I didn't have the discipline to taper so I just went CT.
The first week is the roughest; I felt exactly the same way.  I felt so alone and depressed; it was horrible.  The good news is that if we stay clean we never have to go through it again.
Have you checked out the Thomas recipe on here for the WD? Imodium, ibuprofen, EmergenC,and Epsom salt baths were really helpful.
Keep posting and sharing, glad you are here.

...chirpin in...Hey! Congrats guys on takin the plunge!  I know what you feel
like. I liken it to my thoughts on quitting smoking....."what will I do with myself when I'm on the phone?......with my coffee/tea?......after I eat?......".  Ugghhhh! It can be unimagineable, but it really is doable.

Ooh man, I can barely remember my first few weeks off opys, but if I go back and read, it's like.......... woa! oh ya!, One thing I remember crying f*cking constantly!  And feeling so very very alone.  I don't really have any active support here, so I remember having one of my "pep" talks to myself trying to convince "me" lol, that it will all get better bit by bit, minute by minute etc.  and you know what?.... well PRAISE JEBUS, AND RUB BUDDHA'S BELLY IT DID!

I was also very scared but I was and still am more scared of what I was doing to myself.  You just do little things at the start, the energy will come.
hope and hugs

Yes you are lucky.  Having a supportive husband is wonderful.  Please keep posting.  You sound as scared as I was when I first found this forum.  I will never, ever, forget how terrified I was.

I;m sorry kimby that you have been crying... I totally know how that feels. I am very teary eyed, I feel very depressed as if the pills totally ran my thoughts, body and everything else. I still haven't taken anymore. My husband knows and he is holding on to them... He is the most terrific support system I have ever know. I am truly lucky.

We all feel like that. I'm convinced I'll never be happy again. How are you feeling? Does your family know? Do you have anyone to help control your taper? Epsom salts and magnesium really help. I've been crying for an hour straight. You're not alone. PM me if you'd like.

I totally agree with you loveme... I have only had 3 5mg norcos today... I'm Doing okay, but I'm feeling very down. Very teary eyed. I guess it's to be expected for all the pills I normally take. I am taken almost 40 10mg norcos in a day. Not to get high, just to feel better so I can function and take care of my kids and home. It is a horrible monster, and I will prevail! Good luck!

I'm in a similar situation.. First time here and first day attempting to taper. I have done good thus far. Only 5 pills 10/325 mg vs 15 @ this time of day. It's mental for me... I feel good, but am craving the high. I need to stay focused.. And set myself free from this monster.

I understand. I know it is hard and it is scary but it is doable. Why don't you tell us a bit about your situation. This is a great place for support and I hope you stick around.

I think we all feel that way, or have felt that way. I don't suffer with pain, I'm lucky to be able to say that! But I still suffer with a bad addictive personality, I always feel like things were easier on drugs, because they were when it worked, it's when they stop working for you and you have to contemplate another detox, this I when we suffer the most! People can't just keep going back, the detox gets harder and harder, eventually something has to give! It's usually they stay clean and learn to live that way, or they suffer in silence for the rest of there lives, all be it shorter lives! That's my view anyway for what it's worth!

Hi and welcome

of Coarse that's why we're all reading and posting here.  But it only makes things worse.  But as anyone will tell you, you have to want to quit and know it's a problem. This is where I personally am.  It feels better for the minutes after you use but then reality creeps in.  It's a terrible feeling knowing you can't function without that little pill or pills.  I wish you luck......if you want help these people are awesome and you're in the right place.

I'm pretty sure that all of us felt that way.  Are you trying to get clean?  If you share about yourself and what you need help with, there will be lots of suggestions and support offered.
