Oxycodone Addict

I am on the Thomas Recipe, my first day. I have been off the oxy's for 48 hours now. I was up to 75 pills in one day, about 25 if the 15 miligram pills. Since I started the thomas recipe i feel ok. Just really sad and craving alot. I have been in rehabs and many detox but I never had this effect b4. Am I just lucky? Or is the worst coming?

I take 480 mg oxy a day, and have been on them for the past 7 years; fenynol, before that, and morphine before that, as well as percs (which i don't take often). I have chronic pain due to degenerative bone disease;  worn knees, hips and three crushed discs,  and joint pain everywhere due to inflammatory arthritis.
While I do get much relief from my pain, and am able to spend more time out of my wheelchair than in it, I would like to stop taking these things. I've only had one brief experience with oxy withdrawal, which scared the crap out of me, as I never experienced much withdrawal from the fentynol, and not much to speak of from the morphine pills either. I know that just stopping oxy is out of the question, it will most certainly kill me with my bad heart and all. After just 15 hrs away from oxy, The intestinal "awakening", chills/sweats, the inability for my body to control its own temperature, heart rate etc. made me realize just how addicting these pills are, even though I have never gotten a "buzz" from them. I have never abused my prescription, always taken them as prescribed. the only reason i went through that one withdrawal was due to my prescription being miscounted (or some pills stolen).
I've been reading about this "Suboxone". Does this stuff really work? Where can I find more info about it? The clock is ticking, as I have lung problems due to scarring caused by systemic scleroses. The oxy decreases respiratory capacity as well, and I'm near the point where I'm going to need oxygen to stay alive, if the increasing pneumonia  episodes don't kill me before then.

I'm Danaleo's brother.  We helped eachother get off pills recently and I told her to come to this website for support.  I don't know if she'll come back to this site again again, but she's on day 7 and doing well.  She got hit extremely hard by the withdrawals, excessive vomiting, etc.  But she's doing much better now.  She's 7 days clean which is all that matters.

Hi Danaleo! Im thinkin the gnarly 1 id right here,that being you have so much in your system that the withdrawls have just been temporarily witheld. : ( Lets hope were wrong though & that the thomas recipe is doin its job. I was on around 300mg's a day which is just a drop in the bucket you were using & withdrawls hit me hard on day 4. So its been a couple more days since your post,i hope all is going well for you. Im fairly new here & feel the only advice im qualified to give is to seek aftercare now. Thats what every1 told me & i didnt. Point being I went 15days cold turkey,then buckled to the mind & used. Day 4 clean starts now. No withdrawls this time but the dissapointment is probably just as bad for me. Good luck & get aftercare!

HI welcome to the forum....well you might be one of those that for no aperent reason other then God is getting thew it with little or mild withdrawals....also if you really took a lot b/4 you quit the serum level in you blood may still be high enough to keep the withdrawals at bay for a couple of days....kinda what im thinking here.....man that a lot of pills in one day

Hi danaleo. I'm on my first day actually 14 hrs clean off 10 mil percs. Taking them for 4 years or so. I've been off and on them. Taking upwards of 30 a day sometimes avg 15 a day.  I'm not sure if the worst is coming hoPefully it won't be too bad. I'm thinking the exact same thing so I'm sorry don't have an exact answer fIr u. I'm struggling myself now. Sad as hell and aching. I think of it as a hurricane. U know it's coming but when?
