PLEASE HELP! NEEDS ENCOURAGEMENT

HI EVERYONE.. HAVEN'T BEEN ON HERE IN A FEW DAYS DUE TO INJURING MYSELF, I FELL AND FRACTURED MY ANKLE,NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS IN SEVERE PAIN AND HAD TO GO TO THE E.R..I'M IN A CAST AND GO TO SEE AN ORTHOPEDIC DOCTOR TUES..ANYWAYS I WILL GET TO THE POINT THE DR PRESCRIBED ME TO 5 MG PERCOCETS FOR PAIN EVERY 6 HRS .. I EXPLAINED TO HIM MY SITUATION SO HE ONLY GAVE ME 12..I LET SOMEONE HOLD ON TO THEM AND HAVE ONLY BEEN TAKING AS PRESCRIBED ONLY WHEN I ABSOLUTELY NEED THEM,I PROMISE!! WHY DOES ALL THIS STUFF SEEM TO BE HAPPENING TO ME?? SINUS INFECTION,WHICH IS BETTER AND NOW THIS...SO WITH ALL THAT BEING SAID SINCE I HAVE BEEN TAKING THEM AS PRESCRIBED AND WENT 19 DAYS CLEAN AND HAVE ONLY BEEN TAKING THEM FOR 3 DAYS NOW WILL I HAVE WITHDRAWALS AGAIN?? THEY DON'T EVEN GIVE ME THE SAME FEELINGS AS THEY USE TO SINCE I'M TAKING THEM FOR LEGIT PAIN...SOMEONE PLEASE HELP I FEEL SO DISAPPOINTED AT MYSELF BUT ALSO I DID'T PLAN ON THIS HAPPENING AND HAVE NOT ABUSED THEM

You will not use your clean days because you are not abusing them.  You have a fracture - a legitimate medical reason to use them.

Thanks for the reassurance!! My plans are to make it through with as least as possible ..Does this mean I will lose my clean days? Please tell me No!! I will be very sad :( if so !! I sooo hate this situation but oh well I just have to be strong but one good thing I did was give them to someone else to hold for me and that person will NOT give me anymore than what I need

Mama, hang in there. Your not going back into full blown addiction. Hopefully you won't need to take all 12 but if so your being responsible!

I think you are on the right track by taking two per day at 5mg.  It is alot less than what you are used to.  The key is don't suffer and stay to as low a dose as possible.

If I took what you are taking now I would be in withdrawal again if I stopped after two days but that is only because what you are using is close to what my prior use was.

I was taking 7-10 7.5 mg lortabs or 10 mg percocets a day for a little over a year ..And yes your memory is correct I took 3.5 mg of a lortab during the time I had a sinus infection but threw the rest away and haven't taken anything until thiis happened..Since my injury which happened 3 days ago I have taken a total of 6( 2 per day )..I am in severe pain but I will not allow myself to take anymore than 2 a day and I'm also taking naproxen in between for the inflammation

I hope it will be o.k! I was just starting to feel some what normal again and then BOOM this happens and sets me back..I know I shouldn't beat myself up but its so hard to accept that I have to resort to these demon pills once again..And about the Dr's I already know they will just give u pain meds to shut u up and get u out and then on to the next patient..However I will not allow myself to become addicted once again..I love the sober me and want lose her again..I will keep touching base with everyone and please repond if u can..I really need all of u :)

Ricart is right.  If you take just a few you will be ok but 12 is not just a few.

I am sorry to hear about your accident.  That is terrible timing.  I hope you feel better soon.  

I don't remember how many pills you were taking before and how many mg they were.  Twelve pills over a 3 or 4 day period could cause you to have some WD symptoms.  If you were using a lot more than 3 or 4 per day the WDs shouldn't be as bad.

From what I remember you took a pill for your sinus infection, right?  I think you didn't take any after taking a pill or two if my memory is correct.  I would try to take the minimum amount as possible.  I can imagine that a fracture is painful and I am not suggesting that you should have to suffer by any means.  I am just concerned that it will be so easy for you to get sucked back in just like I have so many times.  Are you trying to spread out the doses as much as possible?

Hi.So sorry that this happened to you.I think you will be ok if you take only a few and do not get a refill.Just do not let this take you away because it will if you let it.This type of injury is going to mean that all of the orthopaedic people you talk to will be trying to throw meds at you.It is up to you how this will play out.They(the pills) won't give you the same effect at first but they will start too very soon.Please just be careful.We are here and don't beat yourself up.Just do not get any more pills.
