i am not a medical professional so please do not take this as medical advice, there are definantly more qualified people to help you
i am just going to throw a couple of ideas out there, the baby is injesting everything that you put in your body, so the opiates are already in system, so i believe it will come down to the baby detoxing while he/she is inside you or detoxing in the hospital
whatever you decided make sure you talk to your obgyn about this, opiate wd can cause misscarriage, that risk out weighs any concerns you may have about telling your doctor
good luck, let us know what happens
Im agreeing with the other posts, PLEASE talk to you doctor about this!!!! This is absolutly one time you dont want to take it into your own hands, you will be fine but it can cause early labor and other things to the baby like the above post says! CONGRATS ON THE BABY!!!! Im 2 months prego myself and im on cloud 9!!! but I have taken vics too so i know what your going through there too. good luck and keep us posted!!
Please talk with your doctor on this one.......sara
Please talk to your doctor about this. How much are you taking right now? You really really need to talk with your doctor. Don't try to go cold turkey on your own because it can actually cause labor.
I will tell you that I was taking Lortab throughout both of my pregnancies and both my boys turned out just fine. No withdrawals or problems for either (they are now 4 and 2, and the lights of my life, so CONGRATULATIONS!) I was concerned when I found out I was pregnant, but my doctor said she didn't want me to stop for fear of miscarriage or preterm labor. I was not on a high dose, but I can't recall exactly the dosage.
Depending on your current dose, your doctor may want to wean you down now, or closer to labor, or may want to try and wean you off. Depends on your situation and why you're taking them also. But withdrawals while pregnant can be dangerous.
I hope this makes you feel a little better. But be sure to make an appointment with your doctor and go from there. This is one time its best not to take the situation into your own hands.
And again, congratulations on your baby!
