So, I am thinking I need to be on Methodone. I need to get my life staight. I am on such high dosages and have personal circumstances that won't allow me to CT detox like I would want. I need to be stabalized ASAP. I tried subs before, but they allowed too much room for relapse. I may be making the wrong choice, but at the moment, I feel like I need to get away from the constant seeking, digging my family into a grave with money, stressing out my family, the guilt, and worrying every day if I can get a "fix" the next, or will I be in WD's. I've had enough. I feel like I am standing on a small ledge between life and death, and death will be my fate if I use much longer. It's in my gut.
So, can someone tell me what to expect from a methodone clinic? I assume you get some kind of evaluation first. When do they give you your first dose? Do you need to be in WD's for a certain amount of time? Also, I know it takes some time to get on the right dose... do you have to wait around the clinic for hours before you get stablized or how does that work?
I have very young toddlers at home. I am trying to arrange babysitters. I will be calling around clinics tomorrow, but I'd like a general idea of what you experienced.
Thanks so much for your time!
