Palpitations, Cough, Shortness of breath due to pill

I have over the weekend (in now a moment of idiocy) taken an E tablet which has now resulted several days after a flutter in my heart, palpitations, shortness of breath, a cough, lightheaded spells, like in a sense my heart is skipping a beat, and I can clearly see my heart beating from through my clothes, like I've ran a marathon! I'm naturally concerned, and i think the anxiety is making this worse! Apart from the obvious of not doing it again (and cutting down on alcohol and cigarettes etc) is this serious? Will this persist and my rhythm and well being go back to normal after time, or do i need to seek medical advice? I am worrying myself a lot over this, and this is now affecting my daily routine. Please could i ask for advice/help? Anything will be greatly appreciated.

Listen to me. Go get the EKG at the hospital ER TODAY.  You are describing the symptoms of a-fib. This Cannot be ruled out without the EKG. Do it now!

What you need to do is see a doctor regarding your anxiety issues. Just as your fear of HIV with protected sex was unfounded, so is this incident with ecstasy. It is anxiety on both counts and you are obsessing. Please seek professional help. I wish you the best. and hope you get the help you need.

Ive just had an emergency appointment at the local walk-in and they have said that my lung capacity (they checked my blood presuure) was 128/68 (or something like that) which is perfect. And that there is a 'split/skip' in the beats, but that this is not to be worried about, and that there is nothing 'abnormal' around this. They were acting like I was being a overly worried about something they were classing as not serious? I dont really feel very relaxed or less anxious at all after this. Could I get any further help from anyone? Or should i take this advice from the practitioners? They havent really assured me at all, just booked me in for an ECG (on june 30th??!) and told me if it gets worse to come back....Any further help would be really appreciated again :( Should i go to the ER instead?

i second the ER opinion.  you NEED to be seen by a doctor, could be nothing or could be something wrong with your heart, a blood clot in the lung, etc.  do not mess with this.  be honest with the ER to get the best care.  nothing to mess with because your body is trying to tell you something is wrong

Hi and sorry you are feeling so scared and anxious. Well even without knowing your age and history, I think the best thing for you to do is go to the ER today to rule out a cardiac arrhythmia. This could be a serious issue that may not clear up on it's own. It could be life threatening. Please seek medical help and stay away from ecstasy.  It is not made in a lab or regulated so you can never be sure what dose or ingredients are in them. Get some help. Good luck and let us know how you make out.
