Percocet/Oxycontin conversion

Good Morning:

I ran out of my percocets a few days early due to an abscess tooth....yuk........
I have some 10 mg oxycontin and 20 mg oxycontin for pain management.  I normally take percocets 3x/day (5mgX2)
Is the correct conversion 10 mg oxycontin = 1 percocet?

I am looking to find a non-narcotic pain reliever this summer that will be helpful so I can get off them in the summer when I have time away from work......but for now, I need to figure this out......
Any suggestions on the conversion would be lovely.....
Thanks!!
Dianne

No, I know they are time released but I just wondered if 10mg = 2 tablets spread over 10 hours......You are right oxycontin should be harder to get off than percocets but they dont phase me to stop, its the percocets that will......I forgot them one time when I went up north and wow, I was sick as a dog with withdrawals......
Have a nice day, take care!

Above is correct. Isn't oxycontin harder to get off of than percs?

Minus the tylenol in the percs of course:-)

If I am not mistaken, oxycontin is extended release while percs are immediate. The base drug is oxycodone so they are the same with a different release mechanism.
