Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement . I know I can always count on my friends in here to help me threw the rough spots . I do exercise almost everyday and I will talk to my doctor about the Lexapro . Thanks so much . Jim
Have you tried taking Whey Protein? The Entrenet brand is the best but there are less expensive kinds out there. You can add it to coffee or any number of things. Its good in cottage cheese with mandrin oranges. I noticed a big difference in energy. when I started treatment I also started to take this and I seemed to recover quite a bit quicker than a lot of people in my group and the only difference was the whey protein. When I finally got help I was very near death and now I am walking every morning and the walking seems to help depression too. do you get any excercise? Try walking even a half mile a day for three days and the whey protein and see if that helps.
I'm 122 days and still have depressed days.I'm working out at the gym I do 8 sessions in 5 days and it really helps with the endorphines they make you feel good.So my advice join a gym you'll love it. Denise
they might want to try a different AD for you it is VERY possible that the AD might be prolonging the anxiety and since your depression is not any better its not working for you anyway .I would talk with your doctor asap about a change :)
Just wanted to agree with 10356. Hobbies or some activity is so important...I sometimes wished now i had time to get bored cos i am working 2 jobs...but when i was not working for 4 months//i was miserable..waking up everyday with no goals or plans was hard for me after a month or 2..everybody else was at work and i was bored out of my gourd and had nop money to do fun stuff like travel etc....
think of sumpin u like to do..try and fill up ur days...and get up when u feel this was in the morning//the bed can become a prison when we lay there depressed or with insomnia...keep us posted
depression is often worse in the morning for many...getting out of bed is the best thing to do..and get busy..laying in bed is the worst thing u can do unless u r asleep...clean out a closet/walk..anything and this may not even be associated with wd///lots have this syndrome in the morning who r afflicted with a depression episode
What is ur daily routine? Do u work or try and stay busy? What have u tried other than lexapro to help this doomy feeling?
Talking to ur dr may be a good idea//if u r not seratonin deficient then lexapro is not gonna help...I found it did nuttin for me except give me trouble sleeping even when i took it earlky am and even went down to 5 mgs...if it is not what u need then it is not gonna do nuttin...3-4 weeks is what an AD needs to kick in...talk to ur dr and tell him it is not helping..there r other ADs that may help other than an SSRI
Try hard to smile..if u r not seeking aftercare..then that could be a crack in ur plan..it is hard to do this alone
keep posting
My Doctor told me that feeling bad in the mornings is a classic symptom of clinical depression. You need to talk to a professional about this and get some help. It's a shame to feel this way when you have worked so hard. I hope that you soon feel better. Julie
Hi Jimmy, The same exact thing is happening to me....it does everytime. I realize that at least I'll feel better in the afternoon. I feel great in the evening. We have about the same amount of clean time. I think that FORCING myself to get up and moving would be great....I just don't do it. I know that exercise would be great in the AM but don't do that either. I just lie there in my mysery lol. I think that as we get up and moving our endorphins start firing more. Sounds like we both need a New Years resolution.
Hi Jimmy .. checking in with your Dr. is a good suggestion. I also took many drives to fight depression and boredom. I also picked up a Hobby of photography.. it is amazing how much it helps. doing something you enjoy has taken me from depression, cravings even anxiety.. maybe pursue something you have dreamy about.. it is worth a shot. I hope you feel better soon and congrats on 128 days.. lesa
I would really talk with your doctor about this. Maybe they need to change up your meds. Seems like a long time to still be dealing with this. sara
