Getting Of Pain Meds

Sigh,

After 3 months of OXY and Norco I started tappering down.  Got down to 1 10 MG Norco and decided to try and jump ship.

It has been 3 days and I feel worse then I ever have in my life.  I know my body is dependant on the pain killer and I know I need to stop.

How much longer will I suffer, and shuol dI go back and tapper some more?

Definitely don't go back! I was taking 60-100 mg/day and finally went cold turkey last week. I'm not going to lie it will be a struggle, but I'm on day 6 and feel better than I have in a long time. The sleep will come, just follow the advice about vitamins and fluids. Also, try some melatonin for sleep and hyland's restless leg syndrome from Wal-mart if you have the jitters (this was great for me). Hang in and keep posting. It can be very therapeutic during the times when your brain seems to be winning! If you have any left I recommend tossing them immediately. You may not have the willpower at your weakest moments. best of luck!

You can do this! Day 3 was HORRIBLE for me and my fiance.  You will feel better each day.  Don't go back because you will find reasons to keep taking them... That's what happened with us.  Stay positive and keep posting.  Everyone on here is so wonderful.  Like I said: you can do this!

Vicki- Have I mentioned how wonderful you are???

Hi!   Good for you !  No,don't go back and taper. You're almost there. You should begin to feel better tomorrow. You may have some insomnia but pick up some otc meds for that.
Are you eating and drinking?  You need to drink a lot of water and juices.  Get some protein in. Eat bananas and apples. Take a wide spectrum multi vit.

Hang on !
