Pressure in temple area of head?

Hi everyone,
I have spent a while reading the posts and old threads on this site and others,
I gave up taking oxycontin about three weeks ago and I have the most severe pressure in my right temple along with tenderness on my scalp which moves about every few days.
My doctor gave me Stemetil, which from what I understand are used for treating neausea and vomiting.

I was wondering if this is normal and if anyone has any advice or help to put my mind at ease because I think my worrying about it isnt helping by any means.

Thanks

It never hurts to get something that is new and continues to occur checked out by your doctor..I do know i had a headache during detox but it was mild...others have more severe especially if you are grinding your teeth...keep and eye on it and do the best you can...that med should aid with wds as it will help you sleep and help some of the GI symptoms...it does have some side effects if taken long term in large doses...for now you will be fine...glad ur on the clean road and sorry your head is giving you problems

Thanks,
My dad has been taking it for a while now for virtigo, thats why our family doctor prescribed it to me, I do have dizzy spells with lightheadedness but the main problem is the pressure in the right side of my face!
I also went to the dentist and she gave me a splint to stop bruxism, which as I understand is a symptom of the withdrawal, I have a vague understanding of the whole concept of withdrawing from a substance like oxycontin. The rebound headaches and such, I'm just worried that I'm overlooking a serious illness and assuming its from the withdrawal process.

We give it in the ER for migraines...it is prescribed for that purpose as well as nausea...it is similar to compazine...google it to learn about it and the side effects that can occur...it is not known to be overly habit forming which is good...i would think it may make you drowsy if u r not used to it
