Prolongued hangover symptoms...

I'm a 20 year old male, slim to medium build and I suffer from Existential Anxiety Disorder, with panic attacks, depression and hypochondria.

Though I know fine and well the aftermath of a night of drinking, something odd's happened a couple of days ago. Myself and my partnet went to a bar on Thursday night. We both drank amounts of alcohol which normally wouldn't give us hangovers the following day. We both woke up the next morning feeling terribly ill, with her vomiting, feeling nautious and massively hungover. I felt similar symptoms along with constant anxiety and panic.

There's one thing I'm slightly worried about.

I purchased a bottle of ale near the end of the night. Something happened which caused me to leave the club for half an hour, so I placed my bottle on a table unsupervised. When I returned, there were two other bottles containing a similar quantity of ale to the one I left. Being drunk, I opted to go for the fullest one. It tasted like it'd been left there for a while, so I've accepted the bottle wasn't mine.

The query is this. Is there a possibility the bottle I picked up could've been spiked? We both drank a significant amount of it and it's the only identifiable factor which could've caused this. It's been two whole days of constant hangover-like symptoms for both of us. I've gone through a year of alcohol abuse (starting from when I first suffered from anxiety), am on no medication for anything and have recently stepped down my hab it (over the last two weeks, minimal alcohol consumption on occasion). It's my partner that I'm worried about though. She's suffering symptoms almost identical to mine but she's fit and well. We've both been near-bedridden the whole time and it's confusing.

I do apologise if this seems like a panic post. The symptoms have only relented slightly and I can't get in to see my doctor until at least Tuesday. I'm just trying to find some form of reasoning for this.

Thanks,
Chris

hi. if these symptoms are still present, a doctor or er visit would be advisable. could be food or other poisoning. if you both ate at a restaurant, and it's food poisoning, you could check with the establishment or your local health department to see if there were other instances reported. good luck,          gm
