Question about suboxone

I was taking 10mg hydrocodone for 2 years, about 4-8 a day, sometimes more.  This all started with a herniated cervical disc.  I finally broke down and told my family 2 weeks ago because it was ruining my life and my marriage.  The next day I went into a detox facility.  I was there for 8 days.  I saw a doctor and she put me on suboxone as well as klonopin and a muscle relaxer.  I believe the suboxone was 2mg strips but I did not take it the whole time I was there.  My last norco was Sat March 19th, I took 3 for a total of 30mg, I did not have suboxone until Monday March 21 and I skipped Tue and Wed just because I was feeling ok and didnt feel like taking it.  I think I skipped Thur too but can't be too sure.  I know on Friday I took a half strip and Saturday March 26 I took 1 2mg strip.  That was the last time I took anything.  I felt really good in detox and minor withdrawals, it was actually a great experience and so glad I did it.  I was released this past Monday and physically felt ok but was mentally not ready and I have a lot of anxiety of course.  Today, I feel like I have w/d symptoms.  Upset stomach, back aches, runny nose, and just feel icky.  How long does suboxone stay in your system?  I am just upset that I went to this place to detox and here I am back at work, going to school, etc and now I fee like crap.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

Hey  im happy to here your feeling a bit better.....just know detoxing is very cyclic  it comes and goes in waves for most people so dont get discouraged if it comes and goes...the real key here now that you been threw the detox is some forum of aftercare....there are several choices you can go to a addiction therapist...a substance abuse counselor the pastor of your church or the one I recamend to everyone...a 12 step progam like A/A or N/A.....after using all of the above I found N/A to work the best for me....it is free the meetings are only a hour long and with time you will loose the desire to use...something I always thought was impossible...''one addict helping another is without parallel''  this is the only progam that I know of that can do that...aftercare is not optional  it is a critical part of recovery  please do not try to skip this step...just ask our members  ''those that go to meetings tend to stay clean''...the meetings will give you some place to share where the people will understand....it is ok to be apprehensive about going most of use where....just go and lissen you dont even need to speak  but it is what you will hear that is therapeutic  once your more comfortable you can start to share....this progam has given me my life back and fixed the train wreck our lives become living in active addiction.... just google a meeting in your area...let us know what you think and as always keep posting for support..........Gnarly.................

Thank you Gnarly!  Gosh, here I was thinking I'll be 2 weeks clean tmr...I'm kinda disappointed but it is what it is.  I feel a lot better today, just have some back pain.  I know I feel a lot better now being 6 days clean being out of the detox place than if I had done it at home and was on 6 days clean.  I'm glad I went there, I had to get away from the outside world for a bit.  Just was disappointed to feel so crappy yesterday but today is better.  Sleeping is ok, I only get about 5-6 hours though.  I take advil PM if I need to.
Thanks again

I do N/A and I found it worked well....IMO...
Sometimes I feel like all these detox centers do is make you feel good when your no longer taking your "doc" during the time that your there. Once your on your own, you realize that all that **** did was mask what you have to go through???  To get drugs out of our system...we have to detox...and it needs to be "memorable"....You need to remember how ****** you felt doing it!  The subs are a joke...that was my doc b/c I used them to get off of hydrocodone! What a mistake that was!  Stay away from the subs for sure.
The bathroom (stomach issues) plays a large role in how crappy we feel so if you have to FORCE yourself to eat!  It came out of me as soon as I put it in and the dehydration made me feel 10x's worse then I really needed to.  Meal replacement bars even are good,..,.packed with lots of vitamins...try to find things high in amino acids too.
BTW...quite impressed your back at work already....HUGE KUDOS to you!
Keep trying to go to those meetings...you will find they help more than you will ever know!

No, I did not get any Norco's in detox.  They put you on the suboxone and taper you off but like I said, I didnt even take a lot, I chose not because I didnt feel the need, so I'm just surprised I was feeling so horrible yesterday.  I feel a bit better today but every day at work I have back pain and it *****.  I am taking vitamins and not eating too much because I'm just not that hungry but I'll try to the protein drinks.  I am going to a spa and inn this weekend for the hubbies b-day and getting a couples massage so I think that will do me some good!  Yes the detox definitely recommended aftercare.  I wish I could have gone to a 30 day rehab actually...but I'd lose my job I think and I am in my last term of my masters and graduate in May and didnt want to risk not graduating.  I would have liked to have more time off of work because this is very stressful which of course leads to relapse but so far I haven't, I am trying very hard to stick this out.  I did go to an NA meeting the other night and I will continue to go.  I know I should do more, but honestly with my job, commute and my school work, I feel like I have no time and that I would feel more pressured.  So for now i'm going to stick to the NA meetings.  This has been the longest I've been clean, so that is helping me to stick this out...

I wanted to wait until I got to an actual keyboard before I responded to this.
IMO...you really didn't get to detox too well with subs, klonopin and muscle relaxer?  As far as getting all of the **** out of your system, I don't think that happened?  And what's the deal w/ the norco's....did they give them to you in detox?
It sounds like your going to need to ride this out at home so the above advice on what to use at home is good!  Epsom salt baths help more than you will ever know!  Eat and drink as much as you possible can...health food...fresh fruit, dark green vege's, chicken, red meat, etc.,.,..  Foods high in protein!  If you can't stomach too much food (b/c of stomach "issues") I found those protein shakes, meal replacement shakes, helped alot.  A good mulitvitamin, Magnesium, Potassium, etc...During w/d b/c we don't eat or drink right and the body is freaking out, these vitamins deplete.  I also found that sitting in the sun helped!  For the original doc you were taking this should be about 5 days for the physical.  Did your detox recommend to you that you use some type of aftercare....to continue staying clean?

Thank you.  I was on very little of the suboxone which is good.  I actually took immodium for the 1st time last night and I felt a little better, I know if you take too much you can get hooked on it so i'll try to watch for that.  I know all too well of the w/ds and what to take, I have a bathroom full of vitamins, epsom salt, immodium, heating pad, hylands restless legs, LOL.  I have been thru this a few times but this was the 1st time I went to a detox.  I needed it to get away from everything and not be able to go buy pills.  I was considering myself 13 days clean today but I guess I am not, right? My last sub was last saturday so I'm 6 days today..I guess.l

Hey there! It seems you came off everything really fast. Stay away from the suboxone if you can. It comes with it's own wds that aren't pretty. If you really want off this stuff you should really try to just get through it. You're family knows which is huge. Ask your hubby to take over your house duties for a week or so to give you time to get through this. Get some magnesium, potassium supps. Drink plenty of water. Immodium will help with bathroom issues. If you start to experience RLS get some Epsom salts and put it in baths. Take as many as you need. It helps with aches and pains. Hope this helps! Good for you for getting off this stuff. It really does take over our lives.
