Question on Vitamin B12

Hi,

Can anyone suggest a good brand to buy?  I want to get some but there are sooooo many out there.  Is one brand better than another?  When I look at info on the internet, it say make sure you get a "reliable" brand...so now I'm confused.

Thanks in advance!

To All: I have found some more info on Krill oil that I would like to share. Among all of the other health benefits you get with Krill oil is it can be used to decrease inflammation like an NSAID read below:

A number of studies have shown that krill oil is tremendously effective in reducing LDL-cholesterol, raising HDL-cholesterol (up to 44% in some cases), and lowering blood sugar. It has been shown to be effective in treating the pain and inflammation from rheumatoid arthritis and aches and pains in general.

I have beentaking it for a couple of weeks now and I can say that it has helped with some of my pain, so for me it does work. As it is a natural remedy it is IMO much more healthier for you.  If you would like to read the full article go to the link below:

I hope this works for you as it has for me.---quitin

Thanks Dave...I"m glad to know about an energy boost.  I seem to loose mine around 6-7pm in the evenings.  BUT, I do get up at 4:30 am Mon-Thurs and work a 9 hour days 4 days a week.  So Im not sure if that is just natural to loose my energy at that time of day. I didnt' seem to when I was taking my pills tho.  Then again, I was in a fog of all fogs....man....when I think about it now...

Hi,

Just got my B12 and B6.  And popped em.  LOL, I'm very good at popping pills, so it easy to do!!

Sarah...what does B6 do?  Well, I can go look it up....but I did buy both.  I went to Walgreens and got the Nature's made brand.  They both B12 and B6 say take one a day...so I will just add to my multi in the mornings now!!!

Is it a noticeable difference?  And how long?  Just curious.

Thanks so much!!

I get the same as sara Nature's made at Walgreen another thing I use is Krill Oil it helps replenish DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) & EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) both are used to rebuild brain functions & Prostaglandins below is some info on Prostaglandins:

DHA AS A BRAIN FOOD

Fats make up sixty percent of the brain and the nerves that run every system in the body. So, it stands to reason that the better the fat in the diet, the better the brain. So, with all the fat eaten by the average American, why don't we have more geniuses in this country? The average American brain is getting enough fat, but it's not getting the right kind of fat.

Think of your brain as the master gland that sends chemical messengers throughout the body, telling each organ how to work. An important group of these chemical messengers are the prostaglandins (so-called because they were originally discovered in the prostate gland). Prostaglandins initiate the body's self-repair system. The body needs two kinds of fat to manufacture healthy brain cells (the message senders) and prostaglandins (the messengers). These are omega 6 fatty acids (found in many oils, such as safflower, sunflower, corn, and sesame oils) and omega 3 fatty acids (found in flax, pumpkin seeds and walnuts, and coldwater fish, such as salmon and tuna). The foods from which oil can be extracted are generally the foods highest in essential fatty acids.

Most important to brain function are the two essential fatty acids, linoleic (or omega 6) and alpha linolenic (or omega 3). These are the prime structural components of brain cell membranes and are also an important part of the enzymes within cell membranes that allow the membranes to transport valuable nutrients in and out of the cells.

It isn't so much the brand.

You need sublingual B-12, that dissolves under the tongue.

The receptor sites for B-12 are at the end of the digestive tract and it is not absorbed very readily. That is why B-12 intramuscular injections are preferred.

Literature suggests that the vascularity of the tissue underneath the tongue absorbs significant quantities of the vitamin when taken sublinguily.
