Quitting Oxycodone

Hey guys.  First let me say how great it is to find this forum.  I've used the posts here as motivation before but this is my first time posting.

I've been taking 15 mg Oxycodone immediate release on and off for about five months.  I've quit in the past before for a few weeks at a time but eventually my old contact would call up and I'd totally cave in.

The most I've taken in a day is 30 mg (2 pills).  After stopping cold for about three days I noticed that the only side-effect is irritability and craving.  My fear is that sometime past that third day is some bad stuff.  Can anyone give me some advice as to what to expect?  I really want to stop and have deleted and blocked the phone numbers from all the bad influences.

Also, can I expect to have some liver damage?  I know this is a lot but any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks!

aaah....stupid cravings.  find something else to focus on...a movie, computer game, or other activity.  withdrawals will be crappy but it's better to go through it for a few days than take oxy for the rest of your life, yes??  i'd say so :P

get a new phone number so your contact can't call you!! lol...

good luck, let us know how you are doing.

Liver damage comes from the acetaminophen in thins such as Vicodin and Percocet. The 15mg immediate release Oxy doesn't have the acetaminophen in it, so your liver should be ok. That doesn't mean you shouldn't stop abusing the oxy though. Most of the WD symptoms occur within 3-7 days. If you can get through day 3 OK, you can make it 3 years. Make yourself do it.

Thanks!  I know I haven't been taking as much as some but that doesn't mean it's any less dangerous.  I just want to be normal without relying on this garbage.

Right now I'm already on Lexapro so the depression/anxiety should be reduced, but it's the cravings that seem to really dig in and hold on.

I really appreciate it.  This forum is a godsend.
