REALY SICK TODAY
Hi friends,
I don't know what's going on. Today is day 9 off the Fentanyl & I'm sicker today than I've been since I started.
I was also taking 16 Darvocet a day as well. I wonder if i tried to do this too fast?
I have a couple of half's of Darvocet left that I haven't used for 3 days. Would it set me back if I took.
1 1/2 of a Darvocet? Man, I don't know!
That Fentanyl is a bi@#$ to come off of.

I remember you saying yesterday that you stopped taking the Fentanyl 8 days ago and the darvocet 2? Is that right? If it is then what you are going through now could be wd's starting over again because of the darvocet wd. Usually with wd's you start to notice you are feeling better after the worst part of 3-4 days and it gets better. You would now be on day 3 off of Darvocets so it should start to get better after maybe one more day. You say you are torn between taking the Darv or not. If you did take even half of one you might have to start the process back over again.
I would not feel bad about taking the Valium if I were you. That is the only thing that got me through when I had to take myself off narcs before surgeries. Without them I could not have made it. I tapered myself everytime and still had to go through wd's. The Valium is there to help you cope with it and there should be no reason to fell guilty if you are not prone to abusing them. They will help with many of the wd symptoms you may be feeling, especially with your sleep if you take it at bedtime.
About the Seroquel, I failed to mention to you yesterday that it does take a good hour to really work and put you to sleep. It is the only thing that ever worked for me when I got off narcs. I thank God for them because I also have Ambien CR and it is like taking candy, no sleep at all with them. The Seroquel is not addictive and you will have no problems stopping them. I am glad you got some good sleep.
If you can hang in there, the roughest part is almost over for you. If you can make it through at least today and tomorrow you should start feeling better soon. I have never come off of Fentanyl so I am not sure about the wd's. I do know it has a very long half life and being that the wd's should not be as bad as shorter acting drugs. At least that is what I have been told. It is released slower in the body instead of all at once so your body does not go into as much shock. That's if you were on the patch.

You just gotta hang on a little longer, your physical symptoms should begin to go away within a few days. I mom went cold turkey of 25mcg fentanyl and she had w/d's for about 2wks although she started to feel better after about the first 8-10days. She did use valium and clonidine both to help keep her relaxed and to help with some of the muscle pain. Im with the majority of you shouldnt take the darvocet, even though darvocet are fairly weak, it could hurt more than it would help. I know for me when the w/d's would get really bad the best thing I could do was sit in a hot bath for as long as possible, even a shower if you dont have a bath. Regardless just keep on fighting, your so close to putting this behind you, remain positive and you can get through this. Take Care.
Keep getting the sleep that you need - - the hangover from the seroquel will go away pretty fast. And it wont last very many days. Since you dont have a problem with benzo's for a DOC you may want some for a few days..... Stay strong.....
I know! My Doc was so "NICE" when I first went there.
As far as flushing the Darvocet, I don't know. Haven't taken it yet.

Maybe you need to change Doc's. You always have to remember, Pharmaceuticals is a HUGE $$$ Making business. Not to say all doc's are corrupt, but I'm sure there are some that have incentives of prescribing certain meds...

I find it hard to believe that one also - - Hippocrates is probably spinning in his grave!! Just that attitude comes across as very wrong. Best of luck to you ..... have you tried the lidoderm transdermal patches? Same stuff the dentist uses to numb you up .... but in a patch that releases the stuff through your skin like the duragesic. Its an Rx - also the pepper juice - capsaicum - sold by walgreens and several places. Works on the ben gay affect - - heat works..... worth a try- -
I know what you mean! I was almost always tagged as a drug seeker. I swear! That when on for YEARS until I fould this Doc. I'v had 2 cervical surgeries & he just feels like I can't make it without opiates! He told me to go on Methadone, Opana, Oxy's ect when I was in his office to tell him I wanted off. At the time he was only giving me the Fentanyl & Darvocet. Then when I refused all the drugs he mentioned, he looked me straght in the eye & said "I'll be here for you when you are ready to come back"

Its the fentanyl - - it could possibly take up to 10-12 days to feel very well. And you may well yo-yo for a few days before you really feel better. More narcs would be a big blunder right now in my opinion. Its worth a couple more days to shape up the rest of your life. I do enjoy your take on the Docs - - I used to be jealous of the people that got all the scripts - - until I had one for a few years. Hopefully SubDoc Jeff will get with you - he is very knowledgeable on the fentanyl class stuff..........

I'm eating, I'm taking all the supplements. In fact it takes me about 5 mins to get them all down.
I just feel so bad.
I felt pretty darn good the last 5 days. The first 4 were hell. Why is this withdrawal coming back so strong today? I went over to the DR board & asked Dr J for his advice if this did indeed happen, but he hasn't answered me yet & it's been 2 days since I posted.
PLEASE don't ask me to get up & exercise! I am too sick to do that!
Why is this happening? Oh, my Doc would want me on MORE narcotics if I called him.
He thinks my physical pain needs the drugs & wasn't too supportive when I told him I wanted to come off ALL meds! YOU THINK YOU WANT A DOC LIKE THAT UNTIL YOU GET ONE< HUH???? When I was abusing them, I NEVER could get a Doc to prescribe much of anything! IRONY, anyone?

sin my opinion, since you are feeling that bad, the darvocet might not be a bad idea as long as that's all you are taking it for. fentanyl is some strong stuff, as you well know. when i was detoxing, i used valium and zanax to ease the discomfort, and since i am not a 12 stepper, i didn't count it against myself. most importantly, i am 21 days clean today. if it helps you reach your goal, then i think it's ok to do. keep posting and have your support mechanisms in place. you have support, right? keep me posted! peace. sway
I was never on the patch so i realy dont know what that is like, but my past experince is if you take even a half it will set you back and does your Dr. know you have went c/t he my be able to help you. think about calling him but DONT TAKE THAT PILL PLEASE
hi there,if youre at day 9 i wouldnt do anything like darvocet,9 days is so good!! are you eating,and the vitamins do help...give yourself time to feel better....
