Laura can you give your pills to some one ? It would be easier for you if you did not hold on to your pills . Start right back from where ever you were before your slip.

I went WAY too fast w/my taper.  I'm seeing the doctor tonight and telling him my concerns and plan.  I need to get my shoulder fixed before I even try to get off these meds.  Then, I along w/my doctor will choose a plan that will help me STAY sober.  And, I'm never going to take my aftercare for granted ever again.  It is the only thing that keeps me from going back to the 'bottle'.  Girl, you can do it.  If the taper is too fast, start over and try again, but KEEP TRYING.  you know I'm here for you and you have NOT failed.  Just get back up and try again.

Get back to your taper plan, and ignore the little trip-up..  Don't go back to a higer dose.
It is simple as that.  You need to follow through.  Don't let it win!!!!
You can do it.

Don't give up. Just taper down again and go as slow or fast as you feel is necessary. For me, I did a fast taper only because I knew I was going to completely run out of pills. It wasn't very scientific. And when I hit no pills lefgt in the house status; I went Cold Turkey you know; obviously.

Today is day 12. It started out really rough and then I saved my day (I work 11 hours today) with sublingual B-12/folic acid pills tp ease the withdrawal.

Love and healing;

hey don't ever give up...............ever..................... this is one of the hardest things we will ever have to do, but it's worth it. i could never taper, cold turkey was the only way for me. i have always been all or nothing, one is too many and a thousand is never enough. it ***** to have to go this route but im leaving for in patient treatment on July 29th. everything had to come out in the open for me to be able to finally deal with this. you can do it. bring it out into the light, and stop giving it power. don't give up. keep posting!! ill be praying for you.

Trying to get clean is basically trial and error until you find what works for you.  Mistakes are made so we can learn from them.  Like you said - taking more made things worse rather than better like you thought.  It gets worse before it gets better, but as long as you continue to try, you can can do it.  Continue on with your tapering dosage, and like people have said, try to cut back slowly.  Try and have faith, and hang in there!!

I know oxy's and hydro's are different but don't go too quick or make such a big jump in dosages. Me personally I made my cut back and stayed a week at that dosage before I cut back again.  Give your body a chance to adjust to that dosage before you cut back again.  Don't cut back quite so fast and that may help with you being tired.  The depression is just part of the whole deal or atleast it is/was for me

It's not easy...  There is no easy way and there are a hundred different opinions on what the best way is.  Tapering is suggested because it's easier to DT off 1 or 2 per day then it is 12 per day.  espescially if you can't take off work for a week and go through it.

At any rate hang tough and if you mess up here and there just shrug it off and keep goin

They are right the addiction is powerful! Seeing as how you have a function tomorrow and can't be in w/d's do not exceed your 6 today and tomorrow keept it at 6 or less....then after that...go down or c/t. You can do this!

What ever you do, Do not give up. It happens from time to time. Just get back to what you are suppose to take. If you have the pills to do it, Don't go to fast.Or you will have w/d's. But don't trag it out so long that you lose hope...
And whatever you do, Do not beat yourself up!! This addiction is powerful...
