Refilled my script

I had a refill on my pills and I picked them up today. I dont know why because I have no desire to take them (I did have some cravings a couple of days ago but they subsided). So I dont even know why I filled them. Howevevr, It was the first time EvER I picked them up and not immediatly taken a handful of them.  Its like an old boyfriend that never goes away...I dont want to let go. I know it would feel empowering to flush them, but I kinda want to keep them around for a "just in case". I couldnt take them even if I wanted to because I would prob get sick (im on suboxone). So what to do now?

We haven't had a flushing here for awhile so lets do this ****, lol. At least you know why, you said it yourself, your not ready to let go. Since your on sub there is no need to have them there and getting rid of them would give you incredible strenth, it shows who is boss and that is you, so take charge and flush flush flush. You have peer pressure now and for once you should listen to it, ha.

allicat, you are setting yourself up for failure....you will wake up one day with those pill on your mind and they will drive you crazy til you take a handful....trust me...dont put yourself in that position....your addiction would like nothing more than to convince you will be okay if you just hld on to them....you wont...addiction is cunning and coniving...it will trick you....take advice from one who knows....please for the sake of your sobriety...FLUSH!

Allicat - flush flush flush.  BELIEVE ME!  Even if you stay on the Suboxone and manage to not take those pills while on it (which you should not take them while on suboxone), once your off suboxone, no matter how long from now that is, if those pills are around you will want them..a few weeks into being off suboxone I found a bottle of 5mg perc 'spares' I kept around for slow times (and they were like 3 years old as I was on subs for over 2 years)...I was the same as you.. thought I dont even want them.. and within 10 minutes I was shaking, sweating, and dying to take those pills.. its like they got in my head and I could think of nothing else.  I managed to have someone take them off the property, literally, before I could get my hands on them.. i didnt even trust them going into the dumpster out back.. as sick as that sounds, I could see myself jumping in there for that bottle.  Its just not worth having them around.  Im 7 months off subs and I cannot even go anywhere near pills or anyone who has them.  Too dangerous for me as I cannot control my addiction.  Tomskat is so right - you will find a million reasons why you should take one, or two and then you know what happens.  You will feel so proud of yourself if you flush them.

Wow...I can relate!!! However, you've come this far too relapse. You are stronger than any craving, and keeping them around "just in case"? What would justify you taking them again-a bad day at work/home? Fight w someone you love? Think of how long you've been clean, the feelings you had when you hit your 1st milestone, how good you feel now etc.In my opionion, don't do it.Plus, from what I know od sub, you will get sick(.I have not taken sub)Stay here and post.....stay strong;you can beat this!!! good luck to you....anne
