Rx was forged but still filled A week later her dr called ?
About 3 weeks ago my sister went to see our doctor for weight loss and the dr left the room that's when my younger sister stole a few prescription sheets that were blank and even though myself and a few friend told her not to do it she did :/ ,Well she filled one for anxiety meds not in her name i think and then a week later she filled 2 more for pain meds and muscle relaxers not for her self but for her friends dad they are really poor and his back is total messed up she was trying to do something good because they have no insurance , anyways ever thing passed the pharmacy filled them all with no problem i think , But then yesterday being 04/03/14 she called our dr.office and asked for a refill on her sleeping meds she had forgotten to ask for from her previous visit, The Dr.office said ok they would tell the Dr. I'm not sure if it was filled but the Dr. them self called the next day saying they needed my sister to personally call them back A.S.A.P , Should she be worried is she going to jail what's gonna happen ? What are the consequences to what she did ? Can it be trades back to her ? She didn't use her name but u think she showed her I'd the last time she went to the pharmacy , she also is struggling with norco10/325 addiction she takes about 2-3 a day but has severe gull stone problems , PLEASE ANY ADVISE ON WHAT IS GONNA HAPPEN OR ANYTHING SHE CAN DO. were from TX

If you notice, once people starting asking if she was the "sister" that was being referred to, she hasn't been on since? Ah, maybe I would have done the same thing not wanting to admit to something like that??? I don't know...
Dear rx, what ever happened with the doctor yesterday?? I hope everything turned out ok!!
May we pray that she does get off with just going to a treatment or some out-patient treatment. I would not want any one to go to jail for this.
I was talking to the sheriffs the other day and they said they try to get them into Treatment instead of Jail..How true this is I do not know. I was one of the Lucky ones that got HELP before I was dead or in jail.
Heck, all my Years of using here and there..I got pulled over for rolling in & out of a stop sign after I left AA after I hit NA too..Ha!! They kind of gave me a break.
Please have her look into some kind of Addiction Therapy. I think this would look better in the long run. I do know lots of people who did this after they did something illegal and knew it was time for HELP!! They still had to pay the price, but it was not as bad as it could of been.

It's soooo good to hear from those of you on the forum who kept me going early on in my first attempt at being clean. I think many remember me and how horrible of a time I had that first go'round. I am proud of where I am today but still have to be careful and not let all my defenses down. I've still a long ways to go. As I had mentioned earlier, I'm going to try to pop my head in a little more often.

Dear Sarah, I am so happy that your arrest and legal troubles ended up in a positive note for you. You obviously have some serious great clean time in, and for that, congratulations!! You have more time than I do, and I have utmost respect for you and all others ahead of me...
With that being said, I read this original posters comments with this in mind....a young woman with gall stones and a 20 mg a day habit that made a very stupid mistake. I do not believe she should have to go to prison for that. In your case, it was a lifesaver, but may not be for all. Prison could have many terrible repercussions for an otherwise naive young woman. Like I said, I was responding to what I read, and although a dumb thing to do, she could benefit from this in a positive way instead of possibility getting the book thrown at her so to speak.
Good legal advice in my opinion would really help this young lady at this time, could reduce her sentence, get her the counseling, etc...instead of breaking her spirit and limiting her possibilities for the future. As you were speaking from your experience, I was from mine. I did actually talk with my brother about this post (he is currently a sgt for a large drug task force in Florida,), he told me I gave good advice, and it is what he would do, NO question, if this happened to his own daughter. He stated that there really is zero tolerance these days for prescription fraud.
As far as a felony record, maybe the word "ruin" was a little strong, I should have said "have a severe negative impact" instead. I stick with my personal opinion on this matter. I picture a relatively naive young woman who made a terrible judgment call that (as stated) has never been in trouble before. I have to disagree with you on that and I'm pretty sure a few others would as well.
As I previously mentioned above, I am a convicted felon of a drug charge. It is where my addiction led me but I thank the Lord every single day that I was caught, arrested and got into the trouble I did. I relapsed and I relapsed hard. I was nearing an overdose on my last run and would not be here today to tell about it if I hadn't been arrested.
My felony has not kept me from getting my life back in order, has not kept me from now returning to college and has not kept me from gaining employment.
Once my fines are paid and 5 years has gone by, I can have my record sealed.
Yes, I have been looked down upon by others for my involvement in the law but I stand damn proud of who I am today, what I've been through and what it has cost me.
It has in no way at all, "ruined my life".
I would much rather be sitting here today with a "felony", parenting my 3 yr old, than be nothing but a memory for my little girl to grow up with.
I'm not trying to come across rash but if this is what it takes for someone to clean up their life, then that's the sacrifice!

Speaking from experience on this one... You need to come clean with the doctors office and anyone else involved. I was convicted of prescription fraud (a felony) last year and spent a length of time in jail for it. I sit here today with nearly 18mos clean and thank the Lord every day that I was caught, otherwise my 3yr old would likely be without her Mother the rest of her life. I needed help and that was how I got it. I do not agree with obtaining an attorney and keeping quiet. You really are only helping yourself by getting honest. This also means being honest with yourself. I would be more than happy to talk if you would like to message me.

I'm late to the conversation...but I do really feel like I need to put my two sense in. I understand that you are the "sister" of the one that stole, and I mean STOLE the prescription sheets. Please don't kid yourself into thinking that she is somehow the "RobinHood" of pain medicines, only giving to people that need it but have no insurance. I don't mean this to sound hard or mean in ANYWAY....but you do really need a good dose of reality. If your going to help her, and you really want to help her, let her get caught! Sure, hire a good lawyer, but let the court systems put her in drug court where she will be forced to be monitored as to what she's putting in her body. I know out here, Louisiana, I see court ordered people in my N/A meetings all the time, b/c they HAVE to go to so many a week in order to stay in good standing w/ the court.

Dear RX Before your sister gets arrested, find a good lawyer. It's going to be harder once she's in jail I think, you know for her to talk to someone & make arrangements. I do not think she should tell the Dr what she's done before talking to an attorney.
Plus ask the attorney if she should just go immediately into inpatient rehab.

I'm so sorry for what you and your sister are going through, and it's admirable that you want to help her, but please be VERY careful. I wouldn't recommend taking out loans, or putting yourself in a precarious financial situation to help her get clean. You can support her a bunch of other ways, but it's not wise to start investing all kinds of money, time, effort and stress into fighting HER addiction and HER legal problems. I know that sounds cold, but it's the honest truth. Supporting HER doing those things is fine, but she needs to be the one initiating these things, and taking on any financial obligation. It's sad, but true that negative consequences of addiction can SOMETIMES be a big motivator for recovery. If you make it super easy on her, she's not really being made to fully face the consequences.
Like taking out a loan to help her get surgery, for example, that won't stop an addiction. Even when people START by taking the opiates for legit pain issues, if at some point, they transition to addiction, where they're abusing the meds, taking more than Rx'ed, obtaining the pills illegally, and taking them for reasons other than for what they're Rx'ed, eliminating the original reason for the pills (ie pain) is not going to "fix" an addiction. It's much more involved that that.
Also, while it's great that you're helping her, your sister IMO needs to be seeking out this information for herself also. You can HELP her contact a lawyer, or look into rehabs, but I wouldn't do it for her. There is a very fine line between helping and supporting someone and enabling them.
This is a very serious situation, and it's impossible to determine what the outcome will be, but SHE would be wise to get her ducks in a row, legally, and with her addiction, get herself to meetings, look into rehab, whatever it takes. Sorry about all the misspelling and missing letters lol my sype ***** and I'm really tired and basically scared to death i wanna put her in a treatment center or on a plain to somewhere very far but i know i can't hide her that would solve nothing and only cause more speculation and even more trouble so we just wait it out and pray for the best , i still don't under stand though why did the pharmacy fill those prescriptions , wouldn't they get fired our lose their license ? & isn't procedure to not fill anything they think isn't write i mean she Cleary has kid handwriting lol shes not a child but has the worst hand writing ever lol , "i love her so much" <3 any way and if they didn't report anything back to the doctor how would they have known ?
