You are very welcome. Some of that pain is your brain trying to get you to take some opiates so that will calm down. After your detox is done you find out you do still have chronic pain issues, the patches, gel and even accupuncture are ways to alleviate the pain enough so you can live your life instead of the pain leading your life. I have a patch on my shoulder right now so I can get my work done (I work on the computer and have tendonitis plus bone spurs in one shoulder----ouchies without that patch or gel)
I will deff have to look into that...thank you! It's been a week and althought it does feel a little better it still hurts. If I can get that pain gone and this major anxiety under control I'll be doing great. Glad you're feeling better and thanks for the info.
Thanks everyone! I'm still suffering from lack of sleep but the pain is very manageable now. I had an issue with one of the antibiotics...gave me the worst headache I ever had in my life. My wonderful husband dragged himself to the doctor (since I could barely move)....took all the paperwork and tests from Urgent Care and got different antibiotics for me to take. I feel MUCH better now! Just some sleep and I'll be a happy gal :-D
Hey congrats on 31 days that is ausum keep pushing forward work the aftercare and you will be right on track...keep in mind this is a daily program......'''we do it just for today'''............Gnarly
Oh boy....do I ever understand what you are feeling. Have you checked with your Dr. about getting Lidoderm Patches and Voltaren Gel? I think I suggested this to you before but the pain has been so bad for me the last week I'm not sure if I did or not.
Those patches are a godsend....12 hours on and 12 hours off. During the off I use the Gel. The Lidoderm was originally created to help Shingles patients but now they use them for arthritis issues and other pain issues. For the last week I've been putting them on my lower back and it is the only thing that eased up the pain for me. The Gel is awesome too. It is a clear gel....little bit sticky...but if you use it daily it really helps a lot. Basically I use the patch for nighttime and the gel for daytime (you reapply every 4 hours or so). Talk to your doc...the patches are generic now so inexpensive...I'm not sure if the gel is generic yet either....but I gotta tell you are worth the money.
When my hubby was getting his chemo treatments he would get a shot once a week to build his blood cell count. They told us it was painful...oh yes it was. Even though he had opiates they did not control the pain. I would 6 times a day massage that gel into his legs. It was the only thing that helped him enough so that he got some relief.
Hope this info helps you out some :-)
Well heck! I am 80% pain free and now I can't sleep grrrrrrrrrr. Going to take some melatonin and give it another try. Thank you all for your good wishes. Means the world to me :-)

Congrats on 31 days clean!! That's great! I'm halfway there. I've been dealing with 2 slipped discs & nerve damage in my lower back for the past week, and it's been rough, especially going thru it with NO pain meds. You are an inspiration. Hope you start to feel better...really soon!!

My Dear K-
So absolutely over the moon happy for you and your hard won 31 days. You are an inspiration with all you are going through- being a care taker for Hubby and now being diagnosed with an illness that is going to be a trial to manage.
You are a strong woman, filled with grace and courage. Keep moving forward and hang on to yourself. I see many beautiful things on your horizon.
Proud of you...
Much love and respect,
Lu
